Hi all,
This is my first post here and I am hoping for a little advise please.
My 5 year old son wants an Optimus Prime transformer.
I notice lots of the reviews for the Transformers that require less than 15 moves mention that the joints can be easily broken and my son can be a little heavy handed. On the other hand, I'm aware that many reviews can be a lazy form of complaint.
Which ones do you guys consider to be the most robust?
I aporeciate any advice you can give, if my son gets a positive experience he may well want bigger, more complex Transformers later on which would be cool.

The problem with fan reviews is that they tend to focus more on the toys the reviewers fancy, and ignore the more kid-oriented toys like the One-Step Changers and the kind you find in Discount Chains. Also, most joints are designed to pop off and reattach to actually prevent downright permanent breakage.

To get a good idea of what range is most suitable, what toys in general has your son played with so far and how did he like them?

It combines robustness with ease of transformation, and surprise of transformation. The original RID deluxe figure that it is based on is less robust.

If you want to get an original toy, try and see if you can get Armada optimus prime. it is easy and fun, but because it is older it might be hard to find him for a decent price.

I stumbled upon the battle call officer optimus.
nice and big, seems robust, voice activated, puts its own armour on...
This one should create an impression!
