Camera advice

Postby ZarkonSpacePirateGod » Fri Dec 31, 2010 12:55 pm

I'm unsatisfied with my camera's performance. Its a Kodak EasyShare c183. As you can guess I use it to photograph toys. Does anyone have any tips for better close up picture taking. Or recommendations for a camera that ain't to much of a bank breaker?

I'm no expect, but I may as well throw in my two cents.

Even with a point and shoot digital camera, having a tripod really, really helps taking clearer pictures of toys, figures etc. I just have a cheapo Canon, but a 30 dollar gorilla pod really improved the clarity of my photos. Definitely pick one up if you are looking to a fast and easy way to improve photos.

Thats all I can really offer. If you're looking to go serious and get a DSLR, then this is a good time of year, as most place will likely be running sales on their cameras!

Best of Luck!
Don't forget to post some photos!!

I had a Canon S3IS that I absolutely loved (until I screwed up the lens  ).
6mp, SD/SDHC compatible, really nice macro mode on it's own, and you can get an adapter to use SLR lenses. You should be able to get a good one for less than $200. Most of the pics I've posted on this site I took with that camera.

This may be a dumb question, but are you making use of the "close-up" macro?

It's the little "flower" option (on every digital camera I've seen anyway).
