Va'al wrote:Question: just how much Samurai Jack did you ingest for art-inspiration?

ALL OF IT! But it wasn't my doing initially. Dillon the creator of the idea, is about 20 years younger than me, and grew up on a strict diet of Jack as a kid. When he told me that was the design direction he wanted to take, I certainly didn't argue. We are not trying to hide and are unashamed of the truth that this is Dillon's love letter to Jack.

So yes. Some what intentional. And it didn't hurt that a certain someones little brother was standing in the room when this all came to light. Big Bro has been very insightful and encouraging through our whole process. I am very grateful for his help and guidance.
Va'al wrote:That was a really nice take on a style that is most definitely recognisable, and I think it'll do well to place with a number of existing audiences.
Thanks V! This kinda feedback is great! Again we are all aware that the feel of the whole thing is reminiscent of many other great properties out there, but I assure you that the back story and where the story is headed is completely original. After constantly being brow beaten by the riggers of client based work, we really set out to make something that WE would want to watch. We of course are pulling bits from what we love and re-appropriating it into something new. And in doing so we hope we can pull in people and hit them with things that feel good and comfortable to tell them a new story.

If you go Kickstarter, feel free to harass me.
Good! 'Cause you're a hard customer to please, and if you're interested, than we must be doing something right.
Oh, I will pimp that Kickstarter til the cows come home. You can bet on it!
