Cybertron Primus, lights and sounds?

Postby 0ctane » Tue Jun 05, 2007 12:26 pm

Ok, so I got my second 'normal' Primus today (got my first a long while ago but didn't open him, probably something to do with the unicron head...) and its a sweet figure. I only bought this second one as I was taking advantage of a buy 1 get 1 half price deal at TRU, not bad for £25. anyway, On the package it says that its electronic and has symbols for lights and sound effects.

now after transforming him (which was quite fun) the only electronic interaction i got was from the omega lock lighting up. is this all there is? I'm sure there must be more because the figure itself takes batteries as well as the omega lock, and the pics on the back of the box show him with red eyes.

I think i see what looks like a speaker on his back (in robot mode, or is that some kind of detail?

Mine lights up and he makes some sounds when you crank the omega lock around to transform him from planet cybertron to robot mode and back. And his eyes do light up. You have to have all four cyber-planet keys inserted into the omega lock before some sounds will occur. I do agree with you that for the price and size of him, you would think he would do more cool electronic sounds!

So the omega lock going in is supposed to make sounds and having the keys inserted makes primus light up?

I get total silence when the omega lock goes in, but thats without any keys (well I tried the one that comes with him) and the only other cybertron figure i have is jetfire.

is there any kind of tab i need to pull out which might be seperating the contacts?

I don't remember about a tab release for the battery, but there might be one. I do know you have to have four cyber-keys in order to transform him and activate some of the sounds. I'll have to re-check mine to see.

You need to install some batteries in order for the lights and sounds to work. Check the instructions.

Nope, the slots are merely decorative. Both the Omega Lock and Primus figure use batteries, button cell and AA type respectively. Only button cell types are usually included and installed in the figures, the AA ones you'll have to buy separately.
The resident Rewind... well, half of one

I see... thats probably the problem, I havn't put any batteries in because I always thought they were included, the omega lock lights up so I assumed all were present. hmm, probably explains why my 20th prime's matrix compartment doesn't light up either... #-o

To Star Jammer: The omega lock has a button battery in side it already. However, Primus must have some AA put in him. The panel is on his side (waist, right). You will need a small screwdriver.

Nope, sounds like you might need to repalce that battery altogether. Mine was working, right out of the box.

Opened my Primus yesterday. took me half an hour just to get through the twisty ties and rubber bands. But it was well worth it.

He's a great figure. Seems to be a little top heavy, so some poses are harder to keep than others.

The sounds well they aren't really anything to write home about, but at least they aren't as annoying as Dark Skorponok's or Armada Jetfire's.

Any way from what i can gather, his eyes light up when you push the omega lock into his chest and push it up. He makes a firing sound when you use the other omega lock port to deploy the shoulder guns, and big planetary side panels.

I think there is also some noise when his forearm guns pop out.

I have a question, is there any minicon powered gimmick on him. The only thing i could find where the little claws on his lower legs, and they don't really need a minicon.

I do however have a complaint, that's the rear panel. seems to just linger there behind his legs. no way to fold it up or anything. For a figure of this size and price point, I'm sure they could have spent an additional swivel joint to make the panel move up and out of the way of his feet.

But all in all he is a great figure. He looks really imposing with Cyb Metroplex's Saw weapon.

Totally worth the money.

Nope, the active Mini-Con ports have disappeared when Armada ended. Primus does have Cyber Key gimmicks in his lower arms.

When you fold it up high enough it somewhat locks in place :P Speaking of which, he can have real heels by swinging them up. Watch out, they're tightly locked.

Yeah thanx, i knew about the arm guns.
I though the heals where just big piece. I'll have to take a look at them when i get home. maybe that will help with some poses.

I still think he is a fantastic figure.

They do fold in, but i think he has much more standing area with them folded out normally. Still its a good thing to know.

I just can't say how cool this guy is.
