Thanks for dropin by. I'm writting a peice of fan-fic, and the story is generational, but I'm stuck on a wierd issue: How do Cybertronians reproduce?

I considered Furman's 'budding' idea, but that felt too organic, and 'constructed in a factory and given life by a computer' too mechanical. Also, how do 'female' Cybertonians fit into the mess? I'm going with a presumption of a genderless speices, myself, but I haven't shut the door yet.

Here's what I know: Primus created the 12+1 G1 Cybertronians, each of whom perfomed a great task before disapearing. Then the second generation arose, but are they the desendants of the first generation, or simply the second waveto be created?

If you feel like wrappin your head around this, I'd like to bounce ideas of you. Its my warped idea of fun right now (stuck at home with a brcken arm)

lol pic. yeah, I've checked it out. Not surprising, its pretty vague. I did find this gem, though:

"During a dream-like vision, Blackarachnia and Silverbolt meet in an ethereal state, and the two appear to "merge" their sparks, which may be as close to sexual intercourse as Transformers get, perhaps a more spiritual act than physical."

Sugests to me that Cybertonians perhaps create a new SPARK, not a whole new physical being.
But maybe not.

Piers Anthony explores something like robot intamacy in his Phaze series. Basically systems interfacing.

As for reproduction, you've got at least 4 choices:

Organic-like budding
Individual crafting, Vector Sigma Spark, Spark "Cuttings"
Mass production, Vector Sigma Spark, Don't bother with spark
Planetary "Hatching": protoforms just appear from the body of cybertron

thx for your responses guys. I've started writing and have realised I was overthinking a very minor detail. I'm gonna mention that Cybertonians are generational, ie. generation 1 'births' generation two, but keap the process vague. It'll do for now.
