Postby zemper » Sun Oct 07, 2007 9:46 am

i was browsing Toywiz's G1 sections and was surprised at a Takara Collector's edition G1 OP, $ USD 200+??? what the-?!? more than an MP-01?

can anybody tell me the difference between this, Encore Reissues, Hasbro reissues and other G1 re-releases? thanks!

The Takara reiusses tend to be accurate to the original release, although some extra things are included at times. And sometimes something American that Japan never had gets carried over :P

Hasbro reissues are often modified to comply with Toy Safety Laws, those include shortened smokestacks on trucks and longer missles. That may ruin the nostalgia for some collectors and as such can be less desirable.

That said, some stores exaggerate with the pricing, ToyWiz being a good example ;)
The resident Rewind... well, half of one

I'm not sure that is too much of an exaggerated price. It's certainly over $100, and could easily make $150...

But, when following Jelze one never has much to add to the conversation. He covers it.

Takara Collection Prime came with a few extras though, the energy axe, a fist with a hole large enough to hold a Megatron rifle (also came with him) in, and said Megatron rifle.

He also came with a folder for storing the pages of the informational pages that came with each re-issue.
