Differences between US and CAN versions of 09 Bumblebee
Differences between US and CAN versions of 09 Bumblebee. At first I thought it might have just been the autobot and decepticons cards as pictured from the front however there are many more differences.

Interesting.
Obviously they ahve to have different packaging for different areas (namely Europe and South America), but to have such vastly different packaging for the US and Canada is a little odd.
I would have thought they would have gotten more or less the same stuff from China...

...yeah, me too!! I thought the only diff was between the top of the cards (autobot and decepticon). As far as the GM symbol goes I thought it was interesting that Canada had to give props to the US??? GM sorta sucks anyhow. I wish the US had better cars...

They usually just use the same/almost the same packaging on movie transformers here. I don't know why, probably because its cheaper.

Well of course Canadian packaging is different than American, seeing as Canadian has two official languages, requiring most of the packaging in Canada to have both french and english on the covers.

I kind of like them both, on the Canadian one, you can actually see the figures pretty well and its fairly balanced layout wise. I like the US one because it has story and tech specs on the back. That and theres alot more effort put on the whole package design (as in each figure has its own original package.)
As Blurrz said, we have to have both French and Canadian on our packages. It wouldn't probably fit well on the US styled package.

To sell a toy in Quebec, the product needs to have french instructions and the package needs to have french writings (it is the law).
That is why toys sold in Canada have different packaging.

I can't speak for all of Canada but, the Cybertron toys sold in Quebec had the 3 languages (French, English and Spanish) on the packaging.

The version sold in CANADA also makes its way to MEXICO. That is why Spanish is there.
The RID line sold in the US had only Engligh. Then Hasbro US changed that for the Armada and Energon lines which had all three languages on it just like those sold in CANADA. Hasbro US changed it back to all english for the Cybertron line.

You had noted that the CAN BB had a different card back but since you decided to keep yours MOSC you did not realize that the tech specs that are on the back of the US BB is actually printed in colour on the flip side of the instructions included inside the CAN BB. I can post a pic if you would like to see it as it is quite impressive.

I actually enjoy having the Tech Specs on the back of the instructions as I don't have to keep the box packaging.

So there are now 2 tri-lingual packages?
-the North American version has US-English, French and Spanish.
-the European version has UK English, French and Spanish.
I thought Hasbro would have given up on single language packaging and done everything the same in tri-languages, we used to get the European packaging in the Pacific, so why not do the same now?

I agree with you. I prefer the tech specs on the back of the card as well. I keep most of my TF MOSC and MISB. I like reading the tech specs on the back when I display them.

Here you go my friend. I put my G1 Unicron head from my Cybertron Primus figure for scale. The paper is quite large when you compare it against the tech specs on the US '08 BB card back.
