Just wondering if anyone recalls (and played with) Starriors toys in the 80's.
They were the really cool (in my green opinion) wind up robots wigh weapons on their chests or arms that rotated or some sort of action.
Maybe the easiest to remember is the team of Deadeye and Cricket - the big red Trex that shot discs out of his mouth. Cricket was this black pterodactyl that was his remote control.
Anyway I loved them as a kid (and an adult until I sold them due to space constraints)
How bout you?

I have never heard of these things, and I consider myself a knowledgble geek in these matters. Starcom, Megaforce, He-Man, Dino-Riders, etc., familiar. Starriors is drawing a total blank.
Did they have a cartoon? If so, could you link to the intro?

Gouge was one of my favorite toys growing up and sadly the only Starrior I had.
I remember that I got in trouble as I had bought one to give as a birthday present for a friend but tried to keep it for myself, I think it was Sawtooth.
Sorry Nick, no cartoon was made even thou there was suppose to be one, but there is this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XYeYJXbznHA
just avoid the second half with the kids who are likely diabetic now.

Thanks Editor!
Yeah, this was the first I'd seen of them. They look like Headmaster Juniors...
Those chest gimmicks seem alright. Kind of like evil Care Bears...

Interesting that the animation has the guys in their heads as active pilots... they were supposed to be in cold storage.
I loved Starriors. We had a toystore called Kiddie City that made the worst buying decisions about toys. Therefore, they always had "red tag sales" trying to get rid of the unpopular stock. (At least, that's how I understand it.) Since they were so cheap, I had nearly all the Starriors. My favorite was the blue one with the mohawk ans the rotating shield. My second favorite was his hideously colored "cousin" red and green with a rotating bolo on his arm.

I never hd the toys, but I had the Marvel series. Well, I have the series; it's just in my parents' basement right now.
Don't really remember a lot about them, though.

No cartoon, but they did have a 4 issue Marvel comic series which was quite good for a toy spinoff. there was animated toy commercials of them as well, and there were 6 or so minicomics that could be attained with the figures.
They had a really cool Battlestation with a giant Cobra head- I always wanted to do a Gijoe cobra base custom out of it. They had great box art too almost reminiscent of the Joustra Diaclone Transformers artwork.
They were very Zoids like in appearance too - anyway check out these sites if you like
