1. Perhaps "Alpha Trion" is wearing a mask b/c there's an epidemic of the TF equivalent of swine flu? You never know what germs The Swarm is carrying.
2. Re: whether the city in issue #2 is Metroplex - He doesn't have to be toy-accurate. There's this thing called "artistic license."

Overly long, needlessly confusing, taking great enjoyment in obscuring plot points important for enjoying the story for far too long…
Yeah, pretty much.
Once again, Costa manages to spend twenty two pages saying much ado about nothing, and doing absolutely nothing to convince me this is little more than an attempt to thumb his nose at us fans who took offense to his Manufactured Drama'ed death in Ongoing #1. The fact that it's taken three issues to tell a story that could have been told in half of one shows you how badly he's plotted this thing out.
I expect #4 to be Costa by numbers: rushing plot out to serve his story, feature out of character characters doing out of character things in order to serve his story, and be wrapped up as messily as he can.

Sad that US comic stores don't get it until today (Thursday). I guess Monday was a holiday or something.

Sunday, actually.
But trust me. You're not missing much.

YEah, I know Sunday was the 4th, I was being silly, but Monday was, as I forgot, the official day for a holiday during the work week, in which banks and government offices were closed, and thus, delaying the shipping for us U.S.-ers.
Anyway, I found this issue to be totally forgettable, and very...contrived, unneeded, and cliché.
SPOILERS!
Ironhide has been brought back to life on Cybertron by Alpha Trion, whose (A3's) personality as not even half as endearing as it was in the G1 cartoon.
He's not compassionate, he's not understanding, and he's really not helpful. I hope the A3 in the 'Original 13' is much more than this one appears to be.
Apparently, IH's whole purpose for being brought back is that he is the 'toughest' Autobot. Apparently tougher than Guardian robots, Omega, the Wreckers, name any powerful robot, or robots, and it appears IH is thought to be more powerful, and savvy than all of them.
Because he gets to wipe out 'The Swarm'. Ironhide exterminator is going to do by himself, what a group of underpowered, yet, numerous Autobots and the Wreckers could not do to any degree of achievement. And Ironhide was with this group in AHM, too. Wha????
I have to read it again, because I feel as though I missed something. Something that tells me that there is more to it than this.
Oh, and how awesome. Another robot returns from the dead....
SPOILERS!
Ironhide finds the traitor Sunstreaker, who is still functional as we saw in some previous issue of something... IH who was so ready to clean Mirage's clock when he was the traitor, is so lonely he goes and saves Sunstreaker and brings him back to sudo-Metroplex, for A3 to repair.
And how appropriate, after having so many flashbacks, IH does not seem to remember anything recent. So he has no real ill will toward SS.
A3 is an unfeeling, and self-centered being who basically could care less about SS, except that SS actually recognizes A3, where IH has 'never heard of him'.
Was this issue needed? Did I feel any sense of knowing after this that I did not before? NO.
I think DB is rubbing off on me, but I am becoming really cynical about these comics. I really enjoyed all the previous issues of IH. But this issue just keeps us stuck where we were, all we get are A3 admitting he needs IH and that's why IH is alive again, and IH understanding his purpose here is to destroy the Swarm.
Awesome. GahhhH!!!!! Frustrated.
Need to read some good fiction. At least X-Men Second Coming has kept me interested, and excited.
I was also reading SW LOTJ Allies. My reading enjoyment needs help! Allies just showed me the type of SW book I do not want to read.
Back to IH #3. Not interesting.

Hey, don't give me all the credit. Some of it must go to Costa for making these things suck to begin with.

I've enjoyed the series so far -
If it is Metroplex, is he safeguarding Vector Sigma?
I don't know how I feel about Sunstreaker getting rescued...Though I chuckled at his scream....
Uh, Alpha Trion doesn't have a beard. He's got a rag. Might be worse than just having a beard.

Nope, for half a line A3 mentions Vector Sigma is destroyed. Not anything more of what its purpose was in this universe or anything, just that it was destroyed.
I looked forward for this issue, but it let me down. I really couldn't follow IHs and A3s dialogue, and A3s "Hey, I'm the guy who everybody loved, Alpha Trion! Did I mention I was Alpha Trion? Even your half-scrap buddy, Sunstreaker knows I'm Alpha Trion!" speech was irritating.
And sending Iron"Ash"hide out to destroy a planetful of zomb... errr, insecticons alone, on a planet that is radiated? (not to mention that Ironhides power reserve was depleted on his way to Metroplex after he resurrected, so it is doubtful he can even cross a larger section of the planet before he is depleted again)
So, after the first few pages, the issue went downhill, and I don't know whether the next issue can cure this mini-series.

Actually, what A3 says is "After the destruction of Cybertron, Vector Sigma was essentially erased." I suppose that could be constituted as VS's destruction in that it no longer has anything useful to contribute.
I still like the mini-series. It's definately no Last Stand of the Wreckers, which was jawdropping GREAT.

I'm alright with the series. also, someone I chatted with the other day pointed out that his whole "this clothing will protect me!" thing seems to be the equivalent of a tin foil hat. A3 does seem kind of subtly bonkers after this was pointed out to me...alot of his dialogue seems intentionally confusing as well, like Ironhide is pretty much reacting like how WE would. "Who the hell are you? What? Huh? The hell are you talking about?"

After reading this issue I am some what disappointed. This book was a waste of time, paper, and money. There is no way that the next issue can redeem this series especially if the next one is the last one in this series.
