Energon & Cybertron dvd's?

Postby DeathAura » Mon Jul 30, 2007 2:25 pm

Does anyone know if these series have been released yet? Probably not i imagine, i haven't seen them yet and i've been looking.

however, i DID see them on ebay once, the entire series for energon and cybertron, but i think they were bootlegged.

Does anyone know where or how i can find these series? (in english?)

It's just that i have quite a few figures from the trilogy, and the cartoon series really helps explain the characters and story and dynamics, and would help me educate the younger generations of tf fans that look at the figures and ask me about them.

I can find the odd episode here and there on youtube and misc. P2P file sharing networks..

PM me if you can help :)

At the very least, these four Energon DVD's have been released:

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_nr_i_4/002-0256486-5490430?

And one disc of Cybertron is out:

http://www.amazon.com/Transformers-Cybertron-Robots-Disguise-Beginning/dp/B000A0GONW/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/002-0256486-5490430?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1185826380&sr=1-1

Unfortuneatly, that's it, and that's probably all there's going to be, unless Transformers gets so popular that Hasbro wants to milk it and release box sets(hope they do though).

No DVD sets have been released. There was one Cybertron DVD released that had the first few episodes. There are also a few Energon DVDs that were released, but not the entire show.

It's odd, considering that Armada pt. 2 came out not too long ago. Maybe they're waiting?

Region 4 has had a slightly different release schedule...
Armada was released in it's entirety over 15 volumes.

There have been 8 episodes of Energon released over 2 DVD's, with the last DVD being available in December 2005, and the solitary Cybertron DVD was released in July 2006, and was also sold in a pack with Voyager and Ultra sized Cybertron figures.

There have been no further plans from Paramount DVD's to release further DVD's for either series.

That was Rhino's last hurrah. If Sony does release the G1 series again as was originally planned, then we could see Energon and Cybertron down the line.

I was hoping to find a boxed set of all the energon/cybertron dvd's.

So why do beastwars and beast machines all have dvd boxed sets, as do headmasters, victory, and masterforce, but not RID, energon, or cybertron?

I would have thought that they would all be released as soon as they stopped airing on cartoon network or whatever channel was airing them at the time.

So w hat's stopping them from doing it?

I find it odd that they would start off by releasing a boxed set of 1/3 of the armada/energon/cybertron trilogy but not finish off the others :-?

Have faith. Everything comes to DVD sooner or later. Even if it ends up being put out for a different region then Ryan's sticky on hacking DVD players will come in extra handy. A decent release would have option of the US dubs or original episodes with subs, and that may well push up production time as opposed to just a straight release of the US episodes. Eventually it will happen.

it all depends on who owns the rights to distribute the DVD's in each territory. Up until recently, Rhino held the rights to the Transformers licenses in the Northern Hemisphere (reg1,2).

In region 4, Madman owns the distribution rights to G1, BW, and the Japanese series, and have (or are in the process of) releasing bonus extra packed DVD Boxsets. Sony held onto Beast Machines, and have releases Season 1 over 2 bare bones DVD's, and Paramount own the rights to the A/E/C trilogy (Magna Pacific seem to have lost the A license). Paramount dont want to sell their licenses, nor release the series on DVD. Why? Your guess is as good as mine, I would have though now would have been the perfect time to release anything and everything Transformers related.
