hello fellow classics collectors.
Wit the recent botcon rainmakers army builders. I'm just wondering who is army building what Classics characters.
off the top of my head I can think of is:
Scourge: Sweeps
Junkheap/Wreckgar: Junkions
Rainmakers: Rainmakers?/air warriors?
FOC kickback: generic insecticons
SG Junkheap/Wreckgar/Scrapiron: SG Junkicons
For me I have:
10 Junkheap/Wreckgar with repolabels and some upgrade kits
1 set of rainmakers coming
5 Sweeps/scourges
and 5 SG Junkicons
just one FOC kickback
So which Classics characters are you army building?
For Classics. Is anyone army building FOC kickback? Rainmakers? Junkions? Sweeps?

Since, typically, the Autobot toys always outnumber the Decepticon toys, if you want your toys to have an even chance you have to do some army building. Otherwise, a massive Autobot army overrunning a tiny group of Decepticons hardly seems heroic. Thus, I do have a plethora of seekers.
The main six I have official toys of.

And for army building... While I normally dislike getting straight-up bootlegs, I couldn't help but to take advantage of when KO Toys once had an "Oh, Crap! Hasbro Noticed Us!" sale.

As for the post-movie era, I was content to just have Scourge and two additional Sweeps.

(The Sweeps got numbered 42 and 64 in honor of my favorite number and my girlfriend's favorite number, respectively.)
I have a total of two Junkions, but I don't consider that army building as much as I just see it as Wreck-Gar having needed his sweet ride.

Really, there's enough different Autobots that I don't need to do army building with them.

you speak the truth! I might have overdone it the Junkions. My season three Autobots are overwhelming my season three Decepticons. Besides the sweeps scourge cyclonus and Galvitron, All I have on that side is Octane, Runabout and Runamuck, Soundblaster (although not even season 3)and my Devastator (TFC Herc).

I've got 3 extra Generations Scourge figures as his Sweeps. Scourge himself has his wings fully unfurled to resemble a cape, while the Sweeps' wings remain closed (as they are in alt mode). Also Scourge has his guns combined into one to resemble his Targetmaster partner. The Sweeps get one blaster each, the others being tucked away in their wings.
I also have the 3-pack of Sharkticons from BotCon 2010. The 2013 "Rainmakers" are on the way too!
I don't have any duplicate Junkions, just one each of the 2 Hasbro releases so far. I'd love to see that third head mold officially released by Hasbro someday. Given that the Junkions are supposed to be made of pieces of scrap and visually distinct from one another, I don't see the reason for duplicate figures, but if you're a good customizer, more power to you! For me, a trio of distinct Junkions would make my display complete enough.
I do have an extra FoC Kickback, but I don't know if I'll use it for my Classics display. I'm holding out for more Insecticon updates in the future. For now, the G1 reissues from a few years ago will suffice.

That's exactly what I do for my Sweeps in robot mode. Of course, I have one less. (I wanted an even number of Sweeps.) But they keep their wings folded, and each use only one of the two guns. (I used a different one for each.) I also applied the Reprolabels a bit differently. The Sweeps got numbered, while Scourge did not. Where there were a few different sticker options, I gave Scourge the more detailed options and the Sweeps the more simplistic looking options. And finally, I used the provided stickers to give Scourge's vehicle mode red windows, while I left the Sweeps with the out-of-the-box black windows.
(The picture I posted above predates this, but Scourge also now has his Targetmaster Partner, thanks to Mastershooter Collectables.)

Re: For Classics. Is anyone army building FOC kickback? Rainmakers? Junkions? Sweeps?
I can't army build TFs, it's difficult enough to procure singles of most figures, and there are so many unique ones to get. That said, I do have my little Seeker squad (minus Ramjet, for the moment) and have often contemplated a Sharkticon pack. The FP Insecticon trio are my G1 Shrapnel, Kickback and Bombshell, so FOC Kickback and any of the others bug-bots I get (who aren't clearly Predacons, like Waspinator) will join them as subordinates.
I would like a little Junkion family/warband, but am trying to get some variation in alt modes for them. Wreck-Gar, of course, and I've added BH Ratchet to the mix, thinking of maybe BH Bulkhead too, and maybe, just because of his rust colour, DOTM HA Basic Whirl. I definitely think of my TF groups in smaller terms than "army", but I do like having them divided into specific groups.

assembling a Neo-G1/TF:TM cast. Please PM if you have (or know of) the following at a reasonable price: Classics or Henkei Astrotrain, Sunstreaker, Sideswipe, or 3rd Party iGear Ratchet and Ironhide.
Also looking for Universe Repugnus and Overbite, Frostbite and Longhorn and any Webdiver toys.

Never had the funds to troopbuild.
Other figures would have priority to be bought 1st.
I do own Classics TC/SW/SS + Acid storm.
As well as united Wreck Gar and Generations Junkheap.
But that's about it.
I want more sweeps... But... Ah well, I could spend the cash on other figures I don't have yet.

Re: For Classics. Is anyone army building FOC kickback? Rainmakers? Junkions? Sweeps?
I army build Seekers. I have all the main guys, but I also have a few KOs (the Rainmakers, the purple guy, black death SS, that wacky pink recolour), and the Fun Pub Seekers (including the new Botcon ones (still on preorder).
I have 4 Junkions. United and Generation Wreck-Gar, Junkyard, and Scrapheap.
And I have a few Sweeps, but they're all different in some way. In my collection that's fine. I have Gen, United, Botcon, and Titnium Scourge with ehobby Scourge under Unicron with his fellow transparent brethren. Right now United Scourge in the main one. I used to display them together, but ran out of room.

I've troopbuilt with Sweeps, and the Botcon Sharkticons. As much as I'd love to do the same with Junkions, the price of the kits I'd want to get to do it properly has always given me pause.
