Curious to see other reactions for the new Ghostbusters movie. My personal opinion is that they absolutely NAILED the spirit, style, and story of the original masterpiece. I plan on seeing it again before the end of this next week. I laughed, I cried, I felt like a kid again.
The biggest surprise for me was the appearance of Egon. I was stunned and teared up. They did a wonderful job with him. I wonder if they used unused camera angles from older GB movies to get him right. There was the right amount of the original guys in the movie, and I found myself really attached to the Phoebe character.
ANyone else's thoughts?

It finally happened. The Chicago Cubs won the World Series. Yes, I cried.

Its kind of like Basic Instinct, but not in a good way...
Goddammit, now I can't unsee it.

Just got back from it. It was good. I liked it. It will never be the original, which was a masterpiece. Made sure to stay for the mid and send credits scenes. But it did for Ghostbusters what Star Trek 2009 did for Star Trek (even if much of what's out in current Trek is crap).
Looking forward to a sequel. My guess is the one wanting out of the Containment Unit will be
Slimer
And really, they need to do a sequel while we still have Dan and Ernie with us. Gotta get that new team trained up so Ray and Winston can bow out.

Not sure how much training the new team will need! They seemed to take to it pretty well from the start!
As for the containment unit, my guess is that EVERYONE will get out and trigger some kind of psychic backlash. Another possibility is Winston helping the team go global and travel to other countries busting ghosts...why confine them? There's a lot more supernatural beings out there besides ghosts...

My wife and I loved it and the way they did the appearance of Egon had my wife and I tearing up big time. I look forward to seeing it again in theaters soon!
Not a sheeple.
Think for yourself, don't let the magic TV box and social media do the thinking for you.
Question EVERYTHING!!
Just because you have a youtube review channel doesn't make you special.
I look forward to attending a Botcon soon only to settle matters with several idiots in person (yes this is a threat).

I'm planning on seeing it tomorrow afternoon.
Does it count the GB movie from a few years ago as canon, considering both Aykroyd and Hudson were in it?

Nope, not even mentioned and Murray was in the "reboot" as well as Weaver from what I read is that it's a stand alone movie.

Okay. I liked it well enough but it was a one-time viewing.
I'm looking forward to seeing this one.
