NOt the game itsself but the fact Square just released the exact same game that was released on the Super NES 20 years ago and didn't update anything, and then put a $35 price tag on it. Talk about milking a game for all its worth!

First off, it was released on the SNES more like 13 years ago. Second, this is more a port of the PS1 version, and includes not only the FMVs, but also a feature where you can play back both that, and the various endings. (Which neither the PS1 nor SNES versions had) They also rewrote much of the script, fixing up grammar and spelling, as well as changing the names for a lot of items to be more in line with Final Fantasy. There's also the new ending. And even then, it's still a port of one of the greatest RPGs of all time.

Well maybe its not as bad as I though then. I've never played the whole way through Chrono Trigger. I played it quite a bit on an SNES emulator in 1997 or so, but that was the last time I've played it. Why didn't it get the 3D treatment like FFIV?

Ports are easier. You can fix anything you think may have gone wrong with the first one, bugs and such, without having to rebuild the entire game. Doing a full remake is a bit trickier, you have to create new models, new environments, new sounds, animations etc. It's worth noting Square already has a lot of work on their hands. FF13, FF14, maintenance for FF11, and so on. When Chrono Trigger DS came out, they'd have been working on Dissidia, FF4: The After Years, The Last Remnant, Star Ocean: The Last Hope and Advent Children Complete as well.

How so? Pokemon is actually a really good RPG, it's the anime that's crap, and even then it's mostly the dub.

Here Here! I'm glad there is another fan of the games on sieberton.

I mainly play Pokemon on my DS. I do have other games, but they never equal the play time I have on Pokemon. I get a little too addicted to RPGS when they have interesting stories/ gameplay. Been Addicted to Pkmn and Fallout 3 and Mass effect lately.

I have a PSP but I hardly ever play it. I honestly think DS is better. Thats just me though.

I'm not a fan of Pokemon, but I do recognize that it's a solid RPG.

I'll play whichever one has a game that interests me more. Right now, the PSP is getting more time with FF7.
