Well I thought it was universe vs. universe vs. universe but I'm not on the inside loop so it could be divided into factions its Thebirdman's call. Universe vs. universe vs. universe is good because combined factions are stronger than individuals, but the factions might not get along together so it depends how you want to merge the universes. Gravemind hates the Covenant, Mordor and Gondor each have their own ideas for the one ring, etc.

It is complicated because of the multitude of outcomes that could happen. Faction vs faction could make alliances that could change the face of the battles, think about Covenant and Gondor or Flood and Heartless. Not sure what it shuold be.

Gravemind doesn't really hate anyone. No more than the average person hates delicious chicken. It's just when that same chicken is packing and gets the keys to a superweapon that can destroy all your food that you need to step in and teach it a lesson.

What post are you reading? I never changed any rules, I gave my 2 cents, I honestly thought it was universe vs. universe. I also thought on these forums you are supposed to post what you think...man, I was way off obviously. I did not make the topic nor come up with the idea for the topic what I say dosen't affect anything rule-wise. Lets break down your last post:

True, it just has a function, that function may be destructive to other life forms, but that it its function nonetheless,

No its not changing, I only was considering what it would be like if it was diffrent. It is as the title says and no diffrent. And also the "halo fan-boys" cannot have it unless they win it.

Yes, but the Covenant have that superweapon so it(Gravemind) did dislike them. Which brings up another point, the Forerunners lit the halo rings to kill the flood and it backfired.

It didn't backfire, it worked just as they thought it would.
Near the end of the Forerunner-Flood War, the Forerunners were on the losing end, so they decided their last option was to activate the Halo Array. Sentient species (Including early humans and Covenant races) were ferried off to Shield Worlds like Onyx and the Ark which would protect them from the Array Activation, (The Ark was used to preserve species and protect them from the Flood, get it?) and the Forerunners protected some of their own as well. The Array activated, and after the Gravemind died off (There's been more then one) the Flood ended up decentralized and contained. The various species were moved back to their homeworlds via Keyships, and the remaining Forerunners left the Galaxy afterwords.
It didn't backfire, but it was a Pyrrhic Victory. Which is why they left behind Monitors to ensure the upkeep of the Array in case it needed to be used against a new Gravemind.

My point by the second half is that it took a world destroying superweapon to kill Gravemind, something a little hard to come by in the universe of LOTR and KH.

You didn't say that.
UNSC Marine wrote:Yes, but the Covenant have that superweapon so it(Gravemind) did dislike them. Which brings up another point, the Forerunners lit the halo rings to kill the flood and it backfired.
You didn't say anything about the Halo being the only way to kill the Gravemind. You said it backfired, which would imply the opposite effect, killing off the Forerunners but leaving the Gravemind alone.
It's not that the Gravemind is unkillable, it's just really damn hard to kill. Presumably a ton of napalm or even a nuke would get the job done, but due to the nature of the Flood getting the explosives there would be difficult at best, and chances are the Gravemind would remove it or even just have Combat Forms remove it.
Halo isn't the only thing that can kill a Gravemind, it's just the easiest solution.

I did mean Gravemind is hard to kill, that was my point, it should be fun for KH and LOTR...unless it is faction v faction v faction, etc.

Its not faction, its universe, so yes it could become a problem. Remember, though, flood cannot posses Heartless and Heartless cannot de-heart flood forms, they can only damage each other. Nobodies are questionable on what would happen if they met, being they are bodies. Gravemind would very much prove troublesome to its enemies.
