From the Alligned continuity (if you care to believe it exists).
Or RiD Megatronus from the last episode of the new cartoon. Also there's only one 'version' of the Fallen
You dont count the movie version as a different version of the fallen?

Ok, that one still confuses me to no end thoigh. Sometimes i feel it would easier for the club to just say: we thought it would make a cool toy so there you go.

What's confusing about it? It's just an alternate universe version of DOTM Megatron.william-james88 wrote:Ok, that one still confuses me to no end thoigh. Sometimes i feel it would easier for the club to just say: we thought it would make a cool toy so there you go.

I think it's more about how sometimes they can make things needlessly lore heavy and/or convoluted to justify the toys. Like how TFSS 2.0 chromedome and rewind totally aren't IDW Chromedome and Rewind and are a parallel version of a parallel version of the two. When really the toys are just meant to fill in the role of IDW Chromedome and Rewind in someones personal collection. Also, tangent time; i'm kinda pissed that the club decided to nerf the Functionist Universe by "retconning" it as nothing special in the ask vector prime.

Erm, Vector Prime noted his surprise by its coming into being via the abnormal means of acosmogenesis. That isn't "nothing special".SW's SilverHammer wrote:Also, tangent time; i'm kinda pissed that the club decided to nerf the Functionist Universe by "retconning" it as nothing special in the ask vector prime.

I meant more of the fact adding it to the overall Funpub multiverse kinda makes it loose some significance it hand in MTMTE; since from the perspective of MTMTE it's unique, it's different, it's unexplored territory, and there may only be one Functionist universe out there admits the possible infinite created. The ask vector prime relegated it to essentially, "well the way it was created was odd; other than that eh law of averages something like that was bound to happen".

How did you get that from anything he said of it? All he said was that it came into being through unexpected/unorthodox means, it sounds like a dreadful place for Cybertronians, Vector's seen even worse places (being a demigod and all), and he gives his opinion on Functionism as a philosophy. Nowhere does he suggest that "it was bound to happen".SW's SilverHammer wrote:The ask vector prime relegated it to essentially, "well the way it was created was odd; other than that eh law of averages something like that was bound to happen".

Okay, i'm wrong with the way i decided to word that phrase most because i couldn't think of something better. The point i was trying to get across it's just the fact lumping it in with every other universe under the fun-sun, makes it seem like outside of the creation being "odd" there's nothing about it that really has significance, and that's kinda offensive to the writers of the IDW comics. That's more of what I meant of "it was bound to happen" not the universe itself being bad, but the fact it was created oddly; because with the way the club was writing it, through the view of really a demi god, the character would view it that way; law of averages, there's going to be at least one universe created through a strange means, this universe happened to be it.

Well because that means that aside from there being parallel TF universes, like the Movieverse, the Shattered Glass verse and all the others, each are at the center of their own mini multiverse with different alternate versions of the very same cahracters.
Although now that I write it that way, that's exactly what the G1 cartoon and comic(s) are. They are both the same characters but alternate versions where different adventures happen.
Ok, I take it back, its just same old same old.

How is it offensive for a Transformers universe to be in the Transformers multiverse? Every Transformers universe is in the Transformers multiverse. A. Personally, it feels dismissive to the events in IDW, B. The transformers have never handled the multiverse well, let me name of Regeneration 1 as an example, and whenever the writers have tried to connect the multiverse and the larger ominiverse or megaverse or which ever comes next, it gets messy specifically when the club writes it, because they want to include everything for lack of a better term to justify everything in transformers as cannon in some form or another from a continuity error, to toy bios, to the Marvel UK letters page, It's tedious. Personally I think certain continuities, such as IDW's G1 should be left out of the greater multiversal stream as the club has writes it, mostly because including it in cheapens the effects of when the IDW writing team deals with it's own alternate timelines and parallel universes. If anything the in my opinion the IDW team should make their own multiverse and ignore the club.

Re: Hasbro Brand panel at BotCon 2015
I suppose the club feels it's addressing some section of the market by following along behind IDW like a randy dog.
But yes they are both served by ignoring each other that way it has no great effect on those who like both and is better for people who dislike one Universe sub-family over the other.
I would much prefer the Club was consistent to itself and as a general trend if it wants to follow behind something closely then the best thing to follow is that which fits best with their prior releases which is a Universe that stylistically flows from Marvel Transformers Universe Trends. After all Hasbro are intertwined with IDW already so the have that covered already.. or At least they did Until Combiner Wars anyway.. since that Comic and toyline seem to have about as much to do with each other as Beast Hunters as a Toyline did with it's TV show.
Transformers as a brand is arguably in a pretty strange place at the moment especially considering it's hovering around the 30th anniversaries of various significant franchise events.
Sometimes it just seems like Hasbro is just killing time between Movies.

Re: Hasbro Brand panel at BotCon 2015
Jim Sorenson isn't just sitting at his computer making things up when he writes his Ask Vector Prime answers - he does a lot of research and talks with a lot of the original creators to make sure that the concepts presented mesh with what they had in mind.
Jim did in fact speak with James Roberts about how to handle the Functionalist Universe and the multiverse. And the answer that was published was how they decided to treat the relationship.
The multiverse is, after all, a Hasbro-spawned concept. And IDW does rightfully have a place inside of that multiverse.
