The local TRU doesn't sell too many TFs products, but I notice they keep moving stock betwen the back and the shelves, mostly the Cybertron stuff

Target must be immune from this. All of the Targets by me just have empty shelves aside from a few Target exclusive Basic repaints and the TECH crap until a couple of days ago when some movie toys popped up (G1 repaint Jazz and Starscream). All the Wal-Marts and TRU's look like last year, full of Cybertron shelf-warmers.

For a new collector this was fine with me. I saw empty shelves once again when it came to the movie toys, but then found the classics stuff. I got Jetfire, Mirage, Ramjet, and Smokescreen. They had a LOT more, but I had gotten what I wanted. Plus they also had some BW stuff. The day before I finally got my movie Prime, as well as Vector Prime at TRU. A good week for me, bad for the bank account.

Look at Alternators, they complain they are not selling, but all my local stores all had nothing but 5-8 Skids in stock for the last half year - meanwhile toys like Mirage, Rodimus, Rumble, Ravage, Camshaft and Optimus Prime all flew off the shelves so fast I barely saw them if at all. Maybe they should figure out which ones are selling and restock THEM. Instead stores jsut see "well, we have a half dozen Alternators just sitting here and no one buys them - I guess no one want Alternators!" That are all Skids!
Honestly, Hasbro needs to just release a wave of toys that were short changed in their first releases some day - Cybertron Galvatron, Alternator Camshaft, Energon Ultra Magnus, Classic Starscream, Cybertron Voyager Starscream... anything sold in the last four years and now sells for mega money on ebay. They obviously didn't meet demand with their production on these toys.
I suspect that Hasbro distributes toys in a similar method that Soundscan uses to determine CD sales. Simply - areas with the most sales will get the most and newest stock. If no one in the area buys the toys, then you're not going to see the new ones. Not only that, but there probably aren't enough little ones in your area who are TF fans. Solution: hurry up and procreate!
Cheers
