How long till the next TF line hits, and do you think Hasbro will try to extend the movie line?

I read on another thread that Classics/Universe line are due to hit in late 2008, but will the animated line come before or after that?

Anyway it seems that the movie line has been a greater success than anticipated, as evident in the shortages, and how the toys have been flying off shelves. Now if I was at Hasbro, it might seem attractive to extend the line as much as possible, and produce various new figures. I think that's what they're doing with the 'Allspark Power' line. I'm sure that if the movie and the toys had flopped, Allspark Power would've been nixed, since it's mostly repaints.

But at this stage, Hasbro have reason to be confident in developing more figures for the move line. If demand should drop in the coming months, new designs could be shelved for the inevitable movie sequel.

Will Hasbro drop the movie line in order to focus on the next major line, or is there the chance they will continue it as a secondary line, in the way that alternators and the Titanium series have been? Do they have any plans beyond the 8 Allspark Power figures we've seen, or will all energies be focused on the new cartoon?

The animated line will with great certainty hit sooner. If experience does not betray us, we can expect that one month before the show goes live.

Rumours abound for this.
Dates ranging anywhere from November 2007 (very unlikely) to June 2008 have been mentioned.

If the line is anything like Cybertron, then the figures will be in store at least a fortnight before the show debuts.
(Although this was in Australia, I cannot say what happened anywhere else in the world)

I'm glad the animated line is coming out, because i've seen nothing that i like from it so far. i dont think i'll be getting into the animated line, which will give me time and money to go back and buy figures from previous lines that i still want, and also save up for classics 2.0

There has been wide speculation about animated, so far the most tentative dates according to their website are in January.

Universe is scheduled for Fall of 2008, and nothing has been sad otherwise. So yes animated will be out before Universe.

But nothing more has been said about the Extended movie line other than the figs we have already seen.
