Well, I am about to get myself a new MP3 player, as after two years, my 128MB X-Logic MP3 player is dieing, I was kinda strapped at the time XP.
My choices can't go over $180.00AUD, and preferably not an Ipod, I dislike the battery life factor.
So far I have seen 2 nice ones.
The Creative Zen 6GB priced at AUD$149, seems good, nice design, removable battery is a good thing, nice interface, I haven't read anything bad about it.
For people who have one of these, I have two questions:
Does it show Album Art?
Is the playlist catagorised by Artist/Album/Track number?
The second one is a Sansa 2GB e250(I think), priced at AUD$178. I have read the firmware had problems, which have been rectified, realy other than the fact it's expensive in comparason to the Zen, I see no probs with this model. I have no questions for this model.
I have also seen this, but have yet to look up a review, pretty good bang for your buck.
Samsung 5GB
If any one has any suggestions, they are more than welcome, as long as they have a nice interface, 2GB+ and have a display screen, not a "scoreboard" as the little flash drived have.
EDIT:
Read the normal creative has headphone jack issues, so after a bit of research and messing around with files on my comp, I have decided on a Creative Zen V Plus. I just need to decide memory now, I figured out 1 gig is a little bit under 10 albums, and when you take out the songs you don't realy like, it's alot. Yeah. So, 1 or 2 GB?
I need a bit of help with my MP3 player upgrade

I have the 2 GB Creative Zen V Plus and its not bad. It does have some flaws though.
1) It's small. I have small fingers, but sometimes I find it can be hard to use the control stick and push the buttons. If you have big fingers, I wouldn't recommend it.
2) It can play video, which is a nifty feature. But the screen is too small for extended use. You might want to get the one that doesn't play video (the just Creative Zen V without the "Plus") and it's bit cheaper.
3) Also it has some durability issues. I don't abuse it, through normal use my 2 GB Creative Zen V Plus died on me within 3 months. I had to bring it back to the Best Buy. Good thing I bought the 2-year warranty.

I have the 4gb e260 Sansa and I love it to death. Plays video and of course MP3's. Can display album art as well. And it has a voice recorder which has come in handy a couple times for me. Though. It's a load more expensive in Aussie than in the US. I paid $120 US for it. And the 2 gb e250 is only $99 US. Plus they both have slots to insert micro SD cards to increase the space even further. So for an extra $30 you could potentially increase it by 2 more gb if you get a good deal on a card.

Go SAMSUNG. I know, they are indestructible and play all of my file types.
SAMSUNG is what SONY used to be...the best.

Tell that to the two Samsung televisions I went through in 5 months time. I'll never buy anything again from that company.
