If Transformers were recalled what would you do?

Postby videriant » Thu Sep 13, 2007 2:21 pm

Okay, let's be honest. If Hasbro/Takara sent out a recall for some transformers figures (as far as I know, they haven't), how many people, especially the MISB collectors would not even bother returning it?

And how many people would continue to purchase them online if others were unloading them?

For me, if it was a hard to find figure I'd probably end up keeping it if it was MISB but I wouldn't get any more. Okay, if it's hard to find, MISB, and cheap I might still get it.

I wouldn't return mine. I'm an adult collector and if they have lead on them, I'm not worried.

However, it would come in handy just knowing which figures may contain lead so that if I ever have kids, I know which ones to keep away from them.

We had this same thread a few weeks ago. The general consensus was, no one cares about recalls, we'd keep our figures.

Wouldn't bother. I'm not really into the whole liking my figures thing... I'm all for using more than one sense, but liking them is just odd... :P
In all seriousness, I'd keep 'em, & whenever/if ever I have kids I'd just keep the known problematic ones either out of reach or in storage.

To be honest, who would?
I can only think of parents buying for their kids. No one else I can think of would return them...

Wow, I stand corrected. Fair enough, I chew my nails but I don't think I'd let that put me off keeping it, I'd just make sure I'd washed my hands before chewing after a transformation.

I would avoid chewing on them and just keep them.

Thank you for keeping up. It's nice to see someone pays attention around here.

And no, I wouldn't give 'em up.

Can you post me the link to that thread? My search function doesn't work.

I'm also wondering, If it's lead, does the lead become dangerous sitting MISB?

The search function is currently dead, but it is going to be fixed soon.

The Lead paint is fine as long as you wash your hands after you touch it.

Friends of mine used to/still collect Warhammer models, and many of them are lead, they just used to have to wash their hands whenever they touched them, before they were painted.

The only reason that the lead paint on toys is such a big deal is because little kiddies love putting things in their mouths, and lead is fairly toxic.

I think we can all agree that if a recall did happen on a particular line the scalpers would have the prices on Ebay inflated within the minute

I'm in that second boat. Licking my toys was never a serious hobby for me. So, I think I'm good. I think. Although those Cybertron clear blue minicons look like some awesome tasting candy!
