Of course he is not dead. Why would they kill off a great villan and one of primes ultimate foes. Dont think he will be back as Galv. But on the other hand not all movies based on characters like this follow the sorce material right to the core. We will have to wait and see which direction the script goes in. I do think they will do the underwater base for the decepticons.

If they will make another Transformers Movie, they will have to revive Megatron, or either that they might have to find a new leader...

You can't put Megs down for good...not yet

He'll be back 8)

Maybe being dumped into the ocean to the cold depths could alter his voice box and would be a prime op to bring in Frank Welker to do voice over if Weaving doesn't want to do the voice over again. Just a thought :-?

And IMO the idea of him returning as Galvatron in the sequel is somewhat "too soon". He should come back MORE pissed off. And maybe with a fancy, new Earth-based alt. mode. SR-71 Blackbird maybe? Maybe.

I agree entirely. We haven't seen enough of megs yet... his cunning, his ruthlessness, his leadership over the other decepts.

Heres wat i would like, unlikely, but would like....

Several months maybe a year later, megs is revied by the last piece of allspark in his chest but unable to move/tf so scans for a alt body......AIRCRAFT CARRIER With the planes as 'scouts/drones' and obviously not the whole AC tfs to the robot mode, under the alias 'Tidalwave' becomes a new recruit for the secret rising of decepticons lead by new self apointed leader ss, through-out the movie puts up wid ss and his useless leadership skills but then at the end of the movie >

ss: Decepticons retreat
Tidalwave: no we have not lost yet
ss: Something to say Tidalwave?
Tidalwave: its not tidalwave...
ss: then...who...are..you
Tidalwave:....megatron...

end creds

Real simple. Part of the Allspark is in Megatron which revives him. Maybe an underwater seismic quake(which happens regularly) jolts what's left of the All Spark and revives Megatron and maybe some nearby Decepticons. Thus not only bring back Megatron but also Barricade and others.
Also the Deceps bodies will prove sturdy enough to handle the pressures of the ocean. It is an alien race after all. Much different than the metals we know here on earth.

Just sayin...

does anybody really "die" in sci-fi, fantasy, and comic books?
