is mp megatron the most realistic gun in the market?
hi is mp-05 the most realistic looking replica compared to other toy guns in the market? also does other toy gun have the same treatment of installing a orange red tip into the gun's barrrel?

Can't help but wonder why you would ask such a question?
Are we a little short of cash this month?

It's not realistic because it's about 2-3 times the size of an actual Walter P-38 pistol (the gun Megatron's alt moide was modeled after). The G1 toy is actually about the right size, which is why you will never see it reissued here. There are more realistic guns out there.

The G1 Megs is smaller than a real P38. If you want realistic toy guns, airsoft stuff is the way to go.

Only that you'd resize your sig. No biggy since you're new but the allowed maximum is 500 x 300. Also since no one else has offered up the greeting,

Because it's the law. The gun is a realistic, if over-sized, Walther P38 replica. Therefore, it is US law than an orange tip be applied if it is to be imported into the United States.

He's very realistic in that it looks almost exactly like the real deal. Except yes its about 2 or 3 times the size.
Now US toy safety laws prevent any thing even resembling a real gun to be released without the Orange safety cap. That's why all toy guns that look somewhat realistic have the orange caps.
Toy Arsenal
I'm no lawyer, but I guess its done to prevent kids or thieves from holding up convenience stores with a toy gun. As long as it has the Orange tip it can be identified as such, and Hasbro is then not liable of anything. (in other words they can't be sued)
G1 Megatron on the other hand is a bit smaller, but not small enough you could tell its not a real gun, so they avoid the entire issue by not releasing the figure.
On an unrelated note: Binaltron, your signature pic is too large. go here for rules about images in signatures:

MP Megs feels like a damn cannon in your hands. Well, my hands anyway. I can't wait until I get the accessories that were produced .... beware my power!
So yeah. It's been said. It's sstill realistic enough to be detained. Plus there's the issue of police mistaking an oversized or undersized gun in the heat of the moment for a real one. I heard a rumor that a kid was shot at thanks to carrying around a G1 Megs back in the day.

you mean if i pull out my mp-05 in gun mode out of my bag and start playing with it, but not pointing at people of course, transforming it, will i get shot right on the spot if someone next me actually has a gun and start to act like a vigilante.
or i want that person to get even by throwing the gun at him when he catches it, he will be like a potential shooter which he might get shot or be pursued.

just got a rely from bbt.com concerning whether the tip is glued to the barrel, she say yes, and it's intent to be glued permanently. does that mean i'm unable to remove the damn tip with a pair of pliers? and should i still get it from bbt because it's 50 bucks cheaper than action hq with not tip. i mean the tip is an eye sore, an ugly looking tip sticking outside the barrel just make it suckass looking!!!!!

I preordered mine from Ages 3 and up. Same price and they said they would do all they could to get it to me without the plug.

It could happen....AGAIN that its.Back in 1984 a 12 years old boy was shot and killed by police in the Bronx NYC while pointing a G1 Megatron at them.I know most people beleave this to be a urben legend but I grew up in NYC and I remember it being in all the news shows and the schools buting a banned on bringing a Megatron toy to school.

I got this in e-mail from them
I know we just sent out a newsletter but we thought this was worth sending out another one.
MP-05 re-release has now been confirmed. We would not offer this preorder until it has been confirmed by Takara that it will for sure be produced. Because of this it has once again been added to our preorder list. Our shipment will NOT have the orange tip and we will do what we can, as the first time, to get these all un opened and un modified to our friends in the US.
Please if you have any questions regarding this preorder do not hesitate to ask.
Spencer.
