Actually the Legends size class had its debut in the Cybertron Line. Its a unique concept where larger figures get a tiny mould.
The only thing close that had been the WST (World's Smallest Transformers)

Probably, that seems to be the pattern, but who can say?

good thing the legends is accopanied by our local fastfood jollibee (philippine's all time favorite fastfood, combination of mcdonald's and kfc) and for a jolly kid's meal you can choose any legends toy with free stand and it's only a 75 pesos for a meal in conversion it's 1.45$ !!!

As long as they keep selling, Hasbro will keep pumping them out.
Not sure if they will make the animated line, but I am sure they could continue them on within the Classics 2.0 line...
Or keep repainting the Cybertron and Movie ones until TF2.
Awesomesauce; Use it, you know you want to.
