I'm not sure what it's listed value is, but i've seen them going for a bout 10 dollars for an average copy. one in fair/good condition. As far as copies in very good and mint condition i have no idea.

In the 20 years that I've owned this issue I've never seen its value go higher than $10. In fact I've seen it in the $1.00 bins many a time.

Looks like I paid a little over the odds, but it is a near mint one. Good start to my collection anyways.

Thanks guys

Welcome to the boards!

I hope you enjoy you enjoyed Issue #1. It was a bit campy, and the art is styled to look so much like their toys, unlike later issues.

The Marvel series is fun. If you are looking for a cost effective way to own it, might I suggest tradepaperbacks?

Also make sure you check out from about #64 on up, I believe. Matrix Quest, and End of the Road both are a pretty good arc of stories.

I had never seen it over $10 until today. I walked into my local comic book shop and they had moved the copy that was previously marked $5 in the old boxes in the back. They moved it to a front rack right by the door and it's now marked $25.00. Trying to cash in on movie hype, perhaps?

Thanks tigertracks 24! I'm trying to relive my youth I guess, but intend to get back into Transformers in a big way, I have already just finished watching G1 Season 1 and am about to start on Season 2.

Quick question, what are tradepaperbacks?

Collections of the original comics in reprinted book format, usually story arcs are put together...

They are usually helpful in completing readings of a series, even if they are not as valuable as the original single issues.

BTW check out IDW's stuff. They have a few TPB collections of their recent G1 stuff... Infiltration, Escalation, Spotlights, and Stormbringer.

All are great reads!!
