So question, is Rodimus Cron still voiced by Judd Nelson in this episode?

So random question ... who's down for a DVD/BR release of the whole trilogy?
I know I am ... because I have OCD and feel it not being released would mean my DVD/BR Transformers collection would be incomplete.
Well I went out of my way to purchase the Target exclusive version of TF: TLK because it had CW as a bonus feature. As awful as it is, watching it as a single 45 minute experience is better than eight , five minute entries.
I think a BRD set of all 3 together as separate films would be the best way possible to release these. Even on digital, release them as single collected films. Still. I wonder who is going to conduct the social horror experiment of getting a group of fans together to watch this roughly 4 hour and 15 minute tragedy all in one sitting.
Bucket/Want List: Botcon 2016 Customization Class Ratchet (G2 Deco), or Customization Class Ratchet (Marvel Comics Deco) **would also be willing to pay for an Unpainted Botcon 2016 Ratchet, TT Legends Fortress Head (only) with working Electronics
Wish List of Modern Combiners: Road Caesar, Monstructor & Dinoking (proper size to fiction), Landcross, Guard City, Battle Gaia, & G2 Defensor. Wish List of Titans:Metrotitan,Majin Zarak

Try Not to Lose Your Head: Machinima Transformers Power of the Primes Episode 5 REVIEW
- Motto: ""What Would Sky Lynx Do?""
- Weapon: Double-Barreled Solid Sonic Energy Blaster
We are just about to the half way point of the new Power of the Primes cartoon, so obviously in the 5th episode, the story should really start ramping up, right?
...
...
...
right?
Let's take a look and find out, as we delve into "Athenaeum Sanctorum"

Ah yes, my favorite republican senator.
(The following review contains heavy spoilers for the POTP cartoon. Seriously. Characters die and stuff. Proceed at your own risk.)
While last week's episode stayed pretty tight with our main cast of characters, we branch off quite a bit in terms of both plot lines, characters, and backdrops this week. Similarly unlike weeks prior, we make quite a bit of a jump in time from episode to episode. Normally episodes pick up exactly where the previous ones left off, almost like just a commercial break, but in episode 5 we see the Dinobots already out on their own after Grimlock leaves on the main quest to find the Prime Library, and with the main cast already considerably on their way trough the journey, right at the library door. For such a linear, spoonfed, slow moving series, this was actually pretty jolting for me. I had to go back and make sure I didn't miss an episode.
Anyway, speaking of the Dinobots, they just happen to run into Rodimus and Overlord, because everybody's in this damn swamp apparently. The two baddies are hot on the trail of Megatron and the Requiem Blaster.

Swamp Ex Machinima
The Dinobots hide out on a cliff watching the two below. Overlord's upset that they can't find Megatron or the blaster, and starts randomly shooting the ground a bunch of times for some reason. Rodimus says that they're being watched, and blasts the ledge the dinos were hiding behind, revealing their location.
The pair take the dinobots hostage, and promptly start questioning them, trying to find out where the rest of the cast went.

*sigh* You know what this looks like. You don't need me to tell you what this looks like.
As Overlord tries to get the information out of Snarl by sitting with him like a gossiping teenage girl, Rodimus Cron threatens Sludge. Snarl finally lets it slip that they were headed to a library, and they, with the help of Unicron taking over Rodimus' body, put the rest of the pieces together. With one final punch, Rodimus kills Sludge. Just like that.
While the scene, and the following one where the surviving Dinobots morn Sludge, work really well emotionally (as this series goes), Snarl's voice is not good, and it doesn't make a lot of sense. The Dinobots have been running circles around Windblade, Perceptor, and Victorion for four episodes now. Granted that was with Grimlock, but they were still huge and could hold their own against enemies. In this scene they just lay down and take it. Rodimus killing Sludge also brings some questions, some of which might have even been intentional: Surely Rodimus can't be THAT strong. I understand that this show is trying to establish him as unstoppable force to really be reckoned with, but at the same time even Unicron couldn't have made him this strong and unstoppable.

ONE PPPPPUNCH!!!
Speaking of Windblade, Perceptor, and Victorion, we catch up with them in the next scene. They, along with Megatron, Grimlock, and Optimus Primal, are now in a frozen tundra biome, where the clue from the cave in the last episode is leading them.
Now, I'm not even going to attempt to explain the next minute and a half, but just know it is some of the wierdest, worst psuedo science I have ever heard in any form of media. Something about parallel lines that somehow meet, and infinity, and the center of the center (?????) and stuff like that.

I have, just, NO clue.
Anyway, somehow they find their way to the Sanctorum, and they're all taken aback by the temple inside. It is, admittedly, a very nice set piece. Megatron runs in to use of the computer systems, and Perceptor butts in.

"What will you do?" "Oh, the exact same thing as you, but sCiENtiFiCALly!"
Percy finds a page relating to the Requiem Blaster and reads it out loud. It explains that the Requiem Blaster was hidden because Megatronus killed Solus with it. The other Primes entrusted a guardian to protect it, which at some point through the generations became Optimus Primal. Why Primal wasn't able to tell them at least some of this information, the world will never know.
As everyone's distracted by the shiny computer, Rodimus and Overlord catch up, and somehow silently bring Victorion to her knees. Rodimus chokes her, (even though robots don't breathe, but you can find an in depth analysis of this problem thanks to our Energon Pub patrons;) ) eventually tearing her head off, with her body falling to the ground. As this series goes, this is an extremely dark death. It's not played up as dramatically as I think it could have been, but it is an interesting turn. With that, the episode ends.

Aw, sick! This ancient archive of the Primes has Go90!
This episode was admittedly boring, but things at least happened, which is an achievement unto itself. The darker parts were interesting, and cement Overlord and Rodimus as at least interesting to watch. I'm liking the treasure hunt/tourist's guide to the ancient temples of Cybertron story line to be completely honest, I just wish it had moved a bit faster a bit earlier. This episode wasn't nearly as laugh (or scream) out loud bad as some of the past ones have, which is progress. We really have been stuck in the swamp this entire time, so at the very least we can be happy that not only has the story found it's footing, we were also treated to several changes of scenery, which is really all I could ask for. Just please. PLEASE. Don't go back to that damn swamp.
(I leave you with an excellent GIF from our newsie Qwan. See you next week!

Yayy, it's here! I'm always looking forward to your reviews from the moment I watch the episodes, and as usual, you're pretty much on the same wavelength as I am but so much better at expressing it than me
Seriously, what even was with that "parallel lines meet at infinity" stuff. Like I'd honestly be alright if it just meant the vanishing point, which is absolutely a thing, but no it's something about "these lines aren't actually quite parallel" or some such absurd contrivance, fantastic.

It's a misconception from non-Euclidean geometry where the parallel postulate or other postulates are rejected. When you start working in elliptic geometry, things get weird. Like two perpendicular lines meeting at an absolute pole, which would kind of be a point at infinity (the misconception).
That said, my only exposure to these episodes (beyond the first 3 episodes of CW) is these reviews, which are awesome. Thanks, bronzewolf for going through the pain of watching these!

To be fair, Menasor did tell them that Megatron was heading to the Primal Swamp back when they killed him. Overlord an Rodimus are after Megatron, so why wouldn't they go to the place where they were told Megatron was?Bronzewolf wrote:Anyway, speaking of the Dinobots, they just happen to run into Rodimus and Overlord, because everybody's in this damn swamp apparently.
He did one-shot KO Computron and multi-shot KO Devastator earlier.Bronzewolf wrote:Rodimus killing Sludge also brings some questions, some of which might have even been intentional: Surely Rodimus can't be THAT strong. The point at infinity is actually a real-world math term in projective geometry. When one is viewing two parallel lines running towards the horizon, perspective creates the illusion of the two lines converging together at a single point far off in the distance (e.g. - the point at infinity), when they really aren't and it's instead just a trick of the eye.Bronzewolf wrote:Now, I'm not even going to attempt to explain the next minute and a half, but just know it is some of the wierdest, worst psuedo science I have ever heard in any form of media. Gotta teach your autocorrect the term projective. I get very disappointed when autocorrect corrects real words to a different word.

It's corrected now (though, it still doesn't recognize "pixelated", which I tried to use last night, but I digress).kurthy wrote:Sabrblade wrote: The point at infinity is actually a real-world math term in projective geometry. I too at least got more invested in the story. I'm eager to see Megatron vs Overlord now that they've pretty well established Overlord as a badass, and I liked that Overlord just went at Megatron and didn't monologue or anything. Not sure who can handle Mr. Point-and-Kill Rodimus, though. I guess the Requiem Blaster.
I like that this is kind of a throwaway series, and so bots can just die. Would like it to maybe be *just* a little harder for them to die
I really don't like the idea that when one critical portion of a combiner dies, all the individual bots die. Really felt like the rest of Victorion could have uncombined and GTFO.

I think rodimus will be cleansed and that overlord will fall before the might of optimal optimus.

Something about parallel lines that somehow meet, and infinity, and the center of the center (?????) and stuff like that.
No, I know that through art class. Everytime you draw a road or something that head toward the horizon, make them slowly converge. That's not what this is. They say that these lines actually, "microscopically", move toward each other, totally missing the point of the concept you're describing. It's an optical illusion, so they should never be able to find the converging point.

I know previously in IDW Megatorn and Overlord had a brief skirmish, I cant recall how that turned out. Admittedly though, A fantasy battle have wanted to see for a long time would have been the original animated series Megatron (or Galvatron), battle Overlord from Masterforce, preferably after Devil Z gave him his own life and he was no longer just a transector of Giga and Mega. I believe just being piloted by the humans, Megatorn could have easily won, but as his own being, Overlord would be a tough match for Megatron. Considering this iteration of Overlord is um....Cybertron Mudflap on steroids (??)...and the story is completely nonsensical, I have no idea what to expect...

Bucket/Want List: Botcon 2016 Customization Class Ratchet (G2 Deco), or Customization Class Ratchet (Marvel Comics Deco) **would also be willing to pay for an Unpainted Botcon 2016 Ratchet, TT Legends Fortress Head (only) with working Electronics
Wish List of Modern Combiners: Road Caesar, Monstructor & Dinoking (proper size to fiction), Landcross, Guard City, Battle Gaia, & G2 Defensor. Wish List of Titans:Metrotitan,Majin Zarak

Giga and Mega didn't "pilot" Overlord, they were him in mind, body, and soul. Godmasters were some of the most powerful super-robot beings in the universe, Transformer or otherwise, thanks to their ability to utilize the full potential of the three main kinds of Chōkon Power. This is why the human-Transformer Ginrai was able to beat the normal-Transformer Sixknight when he was allowed to no longer hold back from fighting him (after Minerva was no longer held hostage by the Decepticons), while the normal-Transformer Ginrai was killed so brutally by the likewise normal-Transformer Liokaiser due to his having lost all of his Jinchōkon when he became a normal TF. The human element made Godmasters more powerful.o.supreme wrote:I believe just being piloted by the humans, Megatorn could have easily won, but as his own being, Overlord would be a tough match for Megatron.

Even the crap that was Beast Machines, RiD 2000, and the Unicron Trilogy are bitter than this garbage. It literally has ZERO redeeming qualities. None.
The animation is crap, the story is crap, the voice acting is terrible, the dialogue is atrocious.
Don't even dare compare Beast Machine to this mess: sure it was a stupid, preachy and nonsensical show. Sure it ruined the character of just about every Beast Wars survivor safe maybe Cheetor and sure the design were atrociously weird but at least, dear **** Primus, it at least tried to be something.
You're right, I should have compared it to the filth that was Beast Wars
Intentionally flaming comments won't be tolerated. Thank you.
I'm sorry I didn't realize stating a fact was intentionally flaming, my apologizes

That's right they can but they don't breath and don't require oxygen![]()
you saying that makes me laugh about the 2007 movie.
Megatron can fly through the cold of space but freezes in antartica (& people using fire extinguishers)
The problem with the Antarctic and Fire Extinguishers isn’t cold, it’s Moisture. Water is not a nice thing to machines.
