Really? No reaction to a possible BLUEstreak?

I am SO ready to get my hopes up!

Considering how so many who wanted a blue Bluestreak when the figure that ultimately became MP Silverstreak was first hinted at got their hopes raised up so high and were severely crushed when the truth was revealed, I'm not gonna have any feelings about this until something more concrete comes to light.

Pretty much my feeling on it. Also. I bought Silverstreak.

I have yet to buy Bluestreak because I'm waiting for the Hasbro one. I'd be all over a blue, Bluestreak. Black one too.

Not a rumor but a fervent wish. Now that Exhaust has been released (we all know he's earth mode is a Lancia thanks to WJ) but aside from his obscure origin plus the controversy of his "sponsorship" fonts which made him sell like hotcakes world wide (well Japan's secondary market has him at least $ 130.00 and rising).

I wish these 3 obscure commando's/special teams or whatever it is they are called be also be given the MP treatment......the Omnibots! Just their car modes alone: Celica, Mazda and Ferrari is enough reason. What do you guys think?

These three, having never appeared on the cartoon or never shared a mold with any character that did, are probably way down Takara's list if at all. (But you never know..)

Personally, I stick to the characters from the American show.

btw, you forgot to slap "MP" and numbers on the artwork; a must in this thread don't'chaknow? (hey, it worked for Tracks.)

I think those would be fantastic, amazing toys that would absolutely bomb sales wise, unfortunately. Wouldn't shock me to see someone like Fanstoys pick them up down the line, but officially, I can see them being repaints of something else at best (therefore not extremely faithful to the original designs). Might use some Alternators as stand ins for them in the meantime, gotta do something with those guys these days!

Y'know what I just thought of? Anyone correct me if I'm wrong, but Starsaber has NO repaint/retool potential. Maybe that means we'll see a Black/Nemesis version down the road?

Finally! I was waiting for a Blue, Bluestreak. I figure it's inevitable that Bluestreak will get a US release so I can wait for that one for the "official" version.

Good eye. That's definitely Prowl's noggin, so it's probably a fan custom.

Good eye. That's definitely Prowl's noggin, so it's probably a fan custom.

Upon further inspection, it looks like a deconstructed Prowl/Silverstreak. It's Prowl's head and waist, but Silverstreak's chassis.

It's creative, but using Prowl's head is more or less box accurate while Takara would likely just use Streak's head. If this guy really really wants a box-accurate Bluestreak, he'd disassemble the heads and put Silverstreak's face in Prowl's helmet. It would probably fit.

Besides my weird love of Ultra Magnus, I'm a 280zx fiend.

Behind the head, the flap is still Silver. Another giveaway is the tip of the door/wing and the handle. It is silver underneath. In between the shoulders under the blue paint, is still silver - on streak the black hood is painted over the darker silver - the reverse of how it be done in production. Also, it would be infinitely easier to paint over Silverstreak's hood side panels than to try and totally rework Prowl's. Even the ball joints are painted in the legs, which shows the entire thing had to be disassembled. Not to hard to leap to reassembly using two different chassis.

It's a cool custom, but it doesn't take a whole lot to see it's a custom, and only a little more to see that it was a combo (which is the best way to do it) of Prowl/Silverstreak.

Couple other things -

Using Silverstreak's hood/chest would allow you to completely bypass painting over the Nissan logo. Using Silverstreak's roof would bypass the need to remove Prowl's sirens, although we can't see it in the picture to be certain.

Going through this excercise makes me want to waste money on doing this custom myself (well, minus the painting - that I'd farm out...I suck at painting). It would be expensive, though. Still step by step, this is what I would do -

1. Acquire another copy of Prowl/Silverstreak...no KOs. Order the Bluestreak sticker label sheet.

2. Hunt down the blue and gold paints to do the body and "horns" on Prowl's head.

3. Start taking them apart for reverse-engineering to put them back together.

4. Take the following parts from each:

Prowl - Head removing the face, Crotch, midsection, black 'neck' part because Silverstreak's is red, legs.

Silverstreak - Everything else.

5. I'd attempt to put Silverstreak's face in Prowl's helmet. If it doesn't work, I'd probably not go any further.

6. Assuming 5 is a go (and I think it would be), I'd disassemble the head again, because there is no need to paint the face, start the chassis/arms/hands/horns paint process (hiring somebody to do it).

7. Reassemble my box accurate Bluestreak.

8. Apply Bluestreak labels.

9. Photograph the finished product. Upload into this thread.

Upon further digging via google, yep...

False alarm, everyone! That was taken from a custom at TFW2005. Seems the shopowner just typed the name into google image search and picked the best looking picture and didn't knew that Bluestreak isn't blue unless stated otherwise, lol.

The fruit born by those rumors turned out to be Silverstreak.
