Based on the MTMTE design and, apparently, retooled from Kultur (Tarn)! The shoulder back extensions seem a bit more exaggerated than they should be and it's a shame his vehicle mode doesn't have an actual cockpit; but otherwise this is practically line-for-line his MTMTE design.
And it's a retool. These dudes are just incredible.

Not bad for a Tarn retool. Unfortunately I don't think it works that well as Thunderclash, and me being the Decepticon fanboy I am I'll probably go for the Tarn version of the mold. But then I want Turmoil more than Impactor, so...

MMC stop with the random characters and finish your DJD lineup with the remaining 2 characters. Dont be like Fansproject and just leave everybody hanging that bought into the line with intentions of it being completed.

Wasnt trying to do too many lines and characters at once the reason Fansproject collapsed this year? They decided to take a chance with the bizzare instead of snarl and they paid for it. MMC should take notes. Hasbro has pretty much taken back the CHUG market in a good way. The only way to survive is for 3rd partys to do characters Hasbro hasnt touched yet. Thats what started the 3rd party boom in the first place. The next company to fall will be planet x for trying to replace Hasbro figures instead of adding characters to the current lineup. You cant finance a company on the minority willing to double and triple dip. Just my opinion.

Then isn't doing Thunderclash a good idea?

Looking at him again, he is surprisingly accurate for a retool of Tarn. I mean I still don't particularly want him (I'd rather have a more toy-inspired Thunderclash) but I am impressed.

Its a solid retool. But I think the roadbuster/whirl/lockdown was the wrong direction. All these characters have awesome official figures. Wasnt keen on the beast machines either. Obsidian was a cartoon accurate original mold but strika was a retool that looked nothing like the cartoon. How lame is that? And deaths head? That was just dumb.

Honestly, Strika's a very solid design that I find myself wanting quite a bit. Maybe because her official toys aren't that great, but I can take the lack of some of her visual characteristics for an overall awesome looking 'bot

Strika is definitely a want for me. I have no interest in their Roadbuster but that mold looks sharp as Strika.

Im satisfied with the botcon strika since beast machines is not super important to me. But if I was gonna buy another strika to replace her, I want her to be bloated and round just like the cartoon. Without those features, she loses her appeal as a fembot to me. The MMC strika (and the Botcon one) both look like males.
