Movie Deluxe Arcee-A Review

Postby publicvisage » Thu Jul 26, 2007 4:27 pm

Thought I'd try a short and sweet review this time.

Vehicle Mode:

A dark purple Buell Firebolt. It has all the details a motorcycle should, including an exhaust pipe formed from the toy's missile. It rolls well, and has a kickstand for display. However, the robot hands stick out from the rear of the vehicle, but otherwise very nice.

9/10

Transformation:

Nearly identical to Energon Arcee/Ariel. There isn't any Automorph or fine manipulation of pieces; just a striaght old school transformation. However, I would have preferred a new scheme. Not bad.

9.5/10

Robot Mode:

Again, very similar to Energon Arcee. She has high-heeled feet and a very curvacious sculpt that takes advantage of the motorcycle's natural curves, thin yet lithe and powerful looking. There is some nice mechanical sculpt on her chest and face, with blue light-piping for the eyes. Her shoulders and elbows are on ball joints. Unfortunately, her wrists are not, though they do hinge up and down. Ball joints also appear in her hips, but their range is limited to forward and backward motion. Knee articulation rounds out Arcee's poseability.

The motorcycle seat Automorph's into a crossbow when the missile/exhaust pipe is inserted. It can be placed on either arm.

The only flaw in the robot mode is the motorcycle parts that end up on her arms. While they fold down onto her shoulders, forming armor, they still get in the way. I would have preferred that they folded backward or broke down further.

8.5/10

Final Thoughts:

Very nice in both modes, I just would have like a bit more poseability in Robot Mode. And I really want a fresh approach to the motorcycle transformation scheme.

Overall: 9/10

Well they should be, its the same mould, different colors.

Anyway good review. You might want to add ir to Seib's Database of reviews.

I've tried to add it to the database, but I can't seem to get it to appear after I submit it. Have the same problem with my Movie Dreadwing Review...Apparently, I'm defiecent. :-(

Also, while this mold may be based on Energon Arcee, I don't think they are the same mold, considering this is deluxe size and the other is scout size. *shrug*

She is actually quite a nice figure. She is after all the only female as usual. That reason alone is enough to pick her up.
BWOP: "Die-cast construction...It's a lost art!"

Longs for the days of G1 where we only had to worry about Megatron, Soundwave and Laserbeak wanting to be Autobots, Swoop calling himself Tracks and Slingshot calling himself Slingslot!

Wait, wait. I thought there were two Arcee figures. The Target exclusive repaint of her Cybertron figure and a brand new Deluxe figure?

Stop confusing me!

This is correct. The Target Exclusive is a repaint of Energon Arcee; it is scout class.

Then there is the deluxe toy, which also turns into a motorcycle and has nearly the same transformation scheme as it's scout class counterpart. However, the sculpting and details are very different.

I used to have a link to a picture of the two side by side...but I can't seem to find it.

Hope this clears up the confusion.

You are rioght. My mistake. the DEluxe verison is a n new mould with a similar transformation.

The Scout or Basic class is the repaint.

As for adding the review, there no real science involved. Click on this linkand then on where it says Add your review to this figure: than just add the sections and rating one by one. It should be immediately visible.

Seib's hasn't uploaded a gallery for her, so she won't show up in the toy section. You'll need to go directly to the Database to find her.

I can get to the screen to write the review, and after I hit submit section it takes it and I can edit it and what not, but if I leave click on "View Your Review" at the top it brings back to the screen that says there aren't any reviews for this item.

I'm sure there's something simple I've overlooking.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

I have no problem adding it. In fact i just did. Take a look you'll see my one word review.

I'm not sure what could be going wrong on your side.

Are you pressing any of the little squares on the top right side of the review(there are supposed to be images, bt i never get them).I know the The first one is to edit the section, but the second one is to delete it. So make sure you are not deleting the section by mistake.

Also try breaking it up into sections, maybe there is a limit of how many characters a section can have.

I do, actually have it split into sections, and I can edit it and everything. The only thing I can't get it to do is add the review so that's it's visible to anyone one else.

The heading does appear in the database, but the review itself does not.

I'm starting to wonder if its a problem with my security software.

Thanks for your pointers, though. :D
