MP-02 is killing me!
So, I have MP-01, 03, 04, 05, and 06 on pre-order.
Yet I have no MP-02. A white Prime just doesn't do it for me. With some armor I would be all over Mags, but 140+ off ebay for a white prime is a little disconcerting to me.
So I was wondering if anyone had some positive words to say in order to convince me to pull the trigger.
Am I just engaging in wishful thinking by waiting for a "Perfect Edition" mags? I think I may be. If that was in the works, an accessorised Magnus would have appeared before the seeker mold right?
I think I should just maybe bite the bullet and grab him now before theres none to be had. But, I will be ripped if one comes out in the next cpl of years with a trailer and armor.
Any opinions would be quite helpful.

What is your exact reason for not buying him?
I mean, you say you don't want to be ripped off if they do do the perfect edition, but you've bought MP's 01 and 04! I'd probably just buy him and then buy the Perfect Magnus if they happen to release one.
Look at it this way: if it does get to a point down the line where there's "none to be had", as you say, then you'll have an easier time selling him if you're not happy with him!
That said, I can't give you any real reason to buy him based on the figure itself. He's not a particularly enthralling toy, especially given that you already have two of him in more interesting colours.

I am not enthraled with Magnus by any means. However, the white classics Magnus did grow on me, for what its worth.
The issue I have with Magnus that I don't have with Prime is this.
MP-01 displays in bot mode, and 04 in alt mode.
However, with Magnus, a perfect edition would display better as both bot and alt mode. So basically, this Magnus would be obsolete.
So simple enough right, just wait for the inevitable perfect edition.
Problem: Where is it? Why do a whole new mold and Repaint it, before putting out MP-02 with armor/trailer? This is what bothers me. I am coming to the conclusion that there will not be a perfect Magnus.
Oh, and missing one MP is kinda annoying too lol.
Honestly, I have been debating this one for a long time now, and am perfectly balanced between butying and not buying now, as I have been since day one.

If you're a completist, you simply must buy him, for your own sanity!
Since there's no sign of a Perfect Magnus just yet, I'd say buy him. He might grow on you like Classics Magnus.
I'm not sure they'll even release a Perfect Magnus anyway (though they'd be silly not too).

One way to look at it - *if* they release a perfect edition Magnus with his armour I think that it would be nice to have both MP-02 displayed with the perfect edition robot. You could have MP-02 looking up at his armour.
The whole purpose of MP-02 was to help make more profit out of the Prime mold, but I really WANT him. The figure looks great in white and the little colour changes help to make him a little more unique.
I'm not sure if this has helped, but worth a go.

I was never a completist until the BT/MP line. For some reason I can't seem to let any of these go.
Well, except for Magnus, but thats just since I expected a perfect version.
However, the diminishing number of him are starting to make me panic!

Maybe that's Darling Destiny's way of saying, "Buy him. Buy him now or forever hold your peace!"
Does MP Magnus make any use of the Matrix chest cavity?

Indeed! Stop procrastinating and buy one!

I'm sure the features of Prime are the same on Magnus - just the colours of his gun, axe and the Megatron rifle are different.
Then again, maybe Magnus says 'Damnit why don't you open?' when you try and remove the Matrix from him

Prime and Magnus are physically identical, he even has a Matrix. Only the colours are different along with the stickers on his arm screens.
Magnus does look resplendent in his gleaning white outfit.

This thread has almost convinced me to buy him, and I didn't want him until Bonger opened his big mouth.

I had a feeling that he might. Have you seen the custom trailer that pops up on ebay now and then? Is like 6 inches longer than Prime's.

No, not true.

No, it is true. He falls apart while trying to open it, too.

Sounds like you'd be convinced to get mp02 if there was something helps to differentiate him from MP01 (besides the color). Well there is! (your wallet will be hurtin' badly if you decide)

well...if it follows the pattern i proposed in another thread, we wont see a perfect magnus for awhile. Of course when has takara ever followed a logical pattern.

I will admit that Magnus seems to be a pain in the ass to find. Although, I do believe that there will be another version that will include the trailer. It will most likely happen, but the question is when it will. Who will be MP-07?

I bought Magnus about 2 weeks ago. I found one in a Japanese hobby shop. I didn't really want it, but for $35, why not?
I'm really hopeful for a Perfect Edition Ultra Magnus. He's one of the few Autobots that Binaltech couldn't do justice.

OK wow wow WOW.
#1 Smooch, I agree. $35 and I wouldn't hesitate. Anything under 50 and I would be fine with Magnus.
#2The trailer...****. 750 bucks is a lot for a figure, but....
If I was positive that Takara was not going to make one, I wouldn't hesitate. I'd feel like a jackass though if Takara puts one out for 60 bucks next year. Shizzles!!!!! Decisions decisions!!
#3Leo, funny ****, you had me crackin up with that comment.
