Just got my Second Run MP Sideswipe in, and his paint, while OK, seems to have a handful of tiny blemishes. I'll try and post pics later, but I wanted to see if other people had the same experience.

I had a First Run MP-12 that had one larger blemish, but was not so noticeable. Maybe I was just lucky (some people had major horror stories), but I would almost prefer that over many little issues scattered across the figure.

What do y'all think?

I got my MP Sideswipe from Captured Prey today! That was fast. It was great to finally remove the eBay alert for him (Never miss an original Masterpiece release, guys!)

He's a handsome robot, some of the photos of him in robot-mode online don't do him justice in my opinion.

The paint on mine looks nice:


Except they messed up half of the spoiler, it looks dirty which is a little disappointing:


Looks like they also got a wee bit silver on the edge of the eye. Would have been cool if they had coloured the eyes baby-blue like the Datsun Autobots and Hasbro's MP-10.

Thanks for the reply! Good to know my issues aren't universal; somewhat disheartening to know that they haven't been able to streamline the QC on paint.

Also, I agree that they should have taken this chance to improve and tweak the mold. To your point, I do wish they would have given Sideswipe baby blue eyes to match the Datsun Brothers and TRU/YOTH Prime. I think they should have also modified the hand so that he could grip his rifle more securely.

Oh well.

Anything with that much paint is going to be hit or miss. One dust particle can cause blemishes that aren't likely to be caught during mass production.
