No Love for...
classics cliffjumper and ramjet? I wanted these figs for a while, but was going to wait until I could find them in stores. Fortunately I snagged em on HTS using the coupon. It seems that they are in abundance for cheap! Is there something wrong with these guys? I've seen video reviews for these figs and I couldn't wait to get em!

BB is one of the better molds of the line IMO. CJ is a repaint of that same mold. Of course he's awesome! CJ could be a little different, but there's a cool head modification out there using his trailer.
Ramjet rules. All classics seekers are awesome. I do like the SS,SW,TC variation a little better, though. I could do without the cone head, but that's the way that the G1 figures were, so ...
There's plenty of love for Ramjet. He's just so easy to come by these days. Give it time for him to drop into the "rare" status. The love will start to show once this line isn't as accessible.
I started collecting classics after the line was finished, yet I have 2 ea. of all general releases.
Now if I could just get TC, Dirge and Thrust ... all would be well.

Actully the G1 figures (all 6) could have the cone up or down, it was only the cartoon and boxart that specified that the last three were cone heads.
I havnt got any G1 Coneheads, but I do have WSTF Thrust, and he always has his cone down, as would any G1 coneheads if I had any.

RamJet is awesome, CJ I've been putting off cause although the alt mode realy is more fitting to CJ than BB, Classics BB was very specificly sculpted for BB.
A coat of red paint and lack of weapon ruin the idea of this being CJ for me. Just something wrong about that smiling friendly face on a gun nut
Sadly I've been going through some old busted bots, I can find heads that would fit nice on him, but none that are balljointed

I agree, I never had a conehead with the cone up.

I think Classics Jetfire's gun would go nicely with CJ.

Thanks for the lead! He'll be contacted next payday.
Funny, this will be the first time I get the upgrade before the bot.

GOOD LADS!
So glad it's not just me.
Actually, I'm in the process of trying to cast the head and nosecone from one of my Starscream figs to replace Ramjet's. When I can I want to get another Ramjet (to mod into Dirge) and another Starscream (for Thrust).
I really like what they did with the Classics Ramjet mould, and I'm impressed that they managed to get the conehead look to work as well as they have, but if I can get the G1 look back for him, I am.
I never liked the look of the coneheads, and never understood why the cartoon depicted them that way, and then why hordes of fans started posing their G1 Seekers with the cones up! Could they not see how stupid they looked?!
As for Cliffjumper, again, love him. Again, not too happy with the BB cartoonish face (which I modded for BB too) or the lack of a gun (despite the bio on the card!), but that was easily fixable.

Horns filed, jowl bits sculpted on, and a gun repainted from Armada Sideswipe (with a gas canister modded from a GW Necron gauss flayer). Sorted.

I've never heard of a head mod based on the trailer. Any chance of piccies or linkies?

Basically this guy cut bits and fragments off the seado and trailer, and added them to the head.

That's cool, and very clever. I'd probably shave off a bit more of the jowls to open up the face a bit, but I really like that, and it's a very inventive way to mod him, especially if, like that guy, you're not too confident with the putty.
Mine still has the trailer as an optional extra, so he can still do the drop-troop bit if he feels like it.
By the way, gun-wise, the big advantage of the Sideswipe pistol I used is that it fits snugly between his arms in vehicle mode, so there are no extraneous bits to keep track of...
