Perfect Effect PE-DX03 Warden (Cerebros/Fort Max)
Re: Perfect Effect PE-DX03 Warden (Cerebros/Fort Max)
What scale is the bigger warden robot mode? Deluxe or Voyager scale.
I appreciate all the love, creativity & effort that went into this.
This just isn't for me. I don't see the point in creating a poseable Warden that merges with a brick former 1987 HasTak toy. The only way this would be great is if someone created a 3rd party poseable city bot body for warden to merge with.

There's a pic of Warden next to 'thrilling 30' Springer on page 1 and Warden is about an inch taller and way bulkier. He's somewhere between voyager and ultra class.
*edit* there are more size comparisons on Page 5. he is waaaay bigger/bulkier than classics voyager Optimus Prime.

Indeed, my POL shows that too. And with Diesel coming out next Tuesday (saw your note in that thread) I might have to wait another week for Warden before shipping my POL...

Re: Perfect Effect PE-DX03 Warden (Cerebros/Fort Max)
Thanks for all the comparisions pics. 30th Springer was a very tall Voyager toy. So Warden being Taller, more bulkier & having more stuff going on more than qualifies the mold for the higher Ultra size class.

Same here. Also, if I may ask, what Muppet film is that pic from?

Ya, either MakeToys Paladin or FP M3 Squad, depending on the dark figure you were referring to.

Ah, thanks.

You know, seeing how their Fort Max goes will also go a long way to seeing how their Scorponok goes as well.

It boggles my mind that anyone would actually consider using both of these figures for that purpose alone.
Well then let me unboggle it for you just a little.
First thing, remember that the way a fan (any fan) views a certain figure is nothing but the opinion of that said fan, and the value of a certain figure is in the eye of the beholder.
To me, Fortress Maximus is the most useful in robot mode. His other modes are nice, but I don't have Minibots or Micromasters or Legends class figures to pile on him. So being in city or base mode is just taking up too much space. There's no purpose for those modes other than to be displayed.
This Warden figure looks amazing. I would most likely get it even if I didn't own a Fortress Maximus. Just because I choose to utilize its head mode as its regularly displayed version, doesn't mean I don't like the robot mode. The vehicle mode I honestly don't care for. It's not bad, but its other modes make it look pedestrian.
So, having this amazing figure that turns into a head, and having the body of Fortress Maximus, why would I keep them separated? I could say that it boggles my mind why anyone wouldn't use this figure for what it was intended, as the head of the bigger figure, but as I said, it's simply a matter of opinion of what a fan values in a certain figure the most. I value its head mode the most. You might not. And that's perfectly OK.
Also, I don't read the iDW comics, other than ReGeneration One, so discussion of the iDW version which this figure is supposed to emulate goes right over my head. My biggest dilemma will come if this head indeed is just the beginning of a PE Fort Max that is to come later, and I will have to make the choice to either stick with the G1 or spend the big bucks for the new (and presumably bigger and more detailed) Fortress Maximus body. Time will tell.

Hey, I meant no disrespect Rodimus Prime. I'm more than aware everyone's entitled to their own opinion and have their own values to guide them in their collections. I completely understand what you're saying about the two figures individually. G1 Fortress Maximus takes up a lot of real-estate in city or battle station mode, and their real value probably does come from having miniature figures to display on them. And I can't argue with how awesome Warden looks in 'Command Mode'.
I'm simply surprised that anyone could be content to put the two together as (in my opinion) they don't look like they belong together. It's like Janie from Toy Story after Sid's operated on her.

I plan on using him in head mode at least once for the sheer novelty of it.

This figure does nothing for me. Its a huge out of scale cerebros that turns into the head for a brick I Don't even own. Maybe if it was deluxe sized, looked like cerebros from the rebirth, and had a computer mode I might be interested. If its going to be this neo,Im happy with Stronghold.
