We have these where I work so I decided to try them on my next G1 restoration and it worked great! They are called wood sticks, or "orange sticks"

after soaking the sticker with Ronsonol for 30 seconds or so, just use the flat end of the wood stick to remove the sticker, then a bit of Goo Gone to remove residue (Ronsonol works too I just prefer GG for this step)

Its wood so it wont damage or scrape the plastic (use within reason).

Sticker removal can be a chore so anything that makes it easier is always welcome, hope this helps you too
