Hello,
I have some questions about Masterpiece transformers.
First of all...
Which of them are die-cast or have die cast parts ?
Second...
Which ones are still available for sale ?
My third question is why is there such a difference in price in some of them ? The MP prime from Japan is like $145 or almost $250 with a trailer. However the 20th anniversary edition is only about $60 ? The same with MP Starscream, he is about $140, but the Wal-Mart exclusive is $59,99 ? IS there any differences between these and if so what ? Why the difference in price ?
Thanks
W

Part of the difference in price is run size, the Japanese versions are made in smaller runs then the US versions and thus price per unit goes up. Part of it also has to do with pricing in the different countries, things tend to be somewhat more expensive in Japan then here do to a variety of reasons.
Also with Prime the Takara release had different smokestacks since they didn't have to shorten them. Different paint apps as well. At release MP Prime was only about 100 bucks. The rise in price is because its out of production and somewhat rarer then the US version.
The Starscream US release is a completely different color scheme and the price at release in Japan was again only about 100. Little less actually. But again its out of production so price has gone up.
