Rovoltech Transformers, Plz Review them! Must get? Wish i never got them?
Hi guys, I just started looking at the Revoltech line of transformers that features: Megatron, Ultra Magnus, and Optimus.
They looked pretty kick ass in the pictures, but I was wondering what you guys thought of them after you took it out of the box?
Were they must gets and would buy again?
Or did you regret spending $$$ on it?
Best Regards,
Ed

I seem to be the rare one here, but I don't like them at all. They are really just like a model kit done at a factory, I also think the joints are way too tight.

My prime's arm is a bit loose, but otherwise, i think they are amazing. Prime looks like a the comic version of himself in the Dreamwave books.
You can pretty much do a very nice wide variety of poses, very cool.

I like them. Can't wait for more TF ones if they do them.

Longs for the days of G1 where we only had to worry about Megatron, Soundwave and Laserbeak wanting to be Autobots, Swoop calling himself Tracks and Slingshot calling himself Slingslot!

If you get one, get Megatron. I found him at Forbidden Planet in NYC, and I love it so much. I chose Megatron over Prime on account of: a) more joints b) the way Revoltech Prime's chest looks and c) Megatron was all they had, and they were out of Robot Masters G1 Prime.

I have Megatron and I think he's great!
I don't have the prime mold because I don't like the chest, but if they make any other characters I'll certainly consider getting them.
I also have EVA-01 and Winged Mass Production EVA. They just arrived yesterday.

they look cool, but theyre smaller in person. the paint application isnt too amazing and im not really feeling the head sculpts....plus they dont transform
. ive had thoughts on buying em, but ive always passed when i got the chance to. its just one of those things that when you're at home you're all like "cool! i really want one" but when you're there you're like "eh, this wasnt exactly what i had in mind." theyre one of those love it or hate it type of things. but maybe I'll get em, just maybe.

They're extremely half and half for me.
Megatron looks fantastic. Prime a bit less so, he's Pat Lee puffy. Great big gun though.
They're smaller than I expected, but they do look sweet posed together sitting on top of my TV.
The hands are the biggest pain in the ass to take off and replace. I snapped off Megatron's cannon the other day trying to pop his hand on, I had to glue it back on.
And they're a bit pricey... But once they're in position, I forgot about the drawbacks and just love looking at 'em.

I picked Convoy and Megs up at an anime convention last weekend. I like them, but I do think that they're kind of overrated and not necessarily worth the price of admission.
Yes, they're highly poseable, but I wouldn't say that they're *that* much more poseable than recent deluxe or voyager releases -- and in some cases those figures are even more poseable than the Revoltech ones. (Frex, not that you'd necessarily want to have Convoy about to give someone a hug, but the lack of revolver joints on his arms means that he can't even do an outstretched arm pose.) And they do look great -- I mainly went for the pair because I think that this is the best looking (small) G1 Megatron figure yet -- but some of the other posters have rightly noted that they're pretty small (right in between scout and deluxe class figures). I mainly wanted them for toy comics, though, so I may even end up poking fun at the sizes.
Anyway, below is a photo I took of the two together -- hopefully I'll have more when I get around to writing an official review for my site. And here is a mockup comic scene I did using them, obviously inspired by the movie of old.
