hey i was about to order volumes 1 + 2 of the spotlights when ive just been told that they are releasing a spotlight compilation that goes in order of when they were released rather than put together randomly

The Spotlight TPB are set in the order that they were released.

Spotlight Trade 1 has:
Shockwave, Nightbeat, Hot Rod, Sixshot, Ultra Magnus

Spotlight Trade 2 has:
Soundwave, Kup, Galvatron, Optimus Prime, Ramjet

That is the order that they were released by IDW.

If #2 has come out, it snuck by me and is not available at my local CS.

ok, got it the wrong way round lol. Yep vol 2 is out amazon.co.uk has it.

I'm not sure if I should just buy the second compilation, or wait for my LCS to get me the two issues I am missing from it. (Soundwave and Galvatron)

On one hand, it's a toss up on what covers I will get for those issues, on the other, I already have three of the five.

I think I'll stick with single issues on the spotlights and while I am collecting single issues of the main story, I'll probably buy the trade of Devastation just like I have the trades before it.

One thing I did notice about the trads vs. single issues in the case of Megs Origin: The trade had a ton of added written content.

yeah, ive only just started reading tf comics, and i have the megs origin, infiltration and escalation compilations, and after reading them, i compared them to a friends scans and i had pages which he didnt. So i dont know if the compilations get a mini edit

The second batch of Spotlights should literally be in stores now TT, perhaps it was delayed by the holiday while the single issue wasn't? (that shouldnt be the case, but who knows?)

That's odd, the only real extra pages the trades should have is the cover gallery at the rear of the book... can anyone else shed some light on this? I'm lookin your way DB?

I didn't see extra pages in the trade vs. issues of Megs Origin, but there is definately extra dialogue!

Advertisements wouldn't be in the trade and would be in the issues, that might be it.

I'm anxious to go through my single issues of Devastation when it comes out in trade to find out what gets added to it, and see if the same pattern holds. When I realised it with Origin, it was kind of like watching a "director's cut" of a movie.
