That happen pretty much with any of the energon combiners there all a giant peices of sh**. How to get it work is to use the same two planes for the arms and legs then it should lock in place although that doesn't always work either.

errr, no? how would the limb combination affect the torso? and i would hardly call the energon combinders bad figures. g1 combinders were lucky to get more than rotating shoulders, or perhaps a rotating head., but the energon 3 had universal shoulders, hips, the decepticons had waist joints, toe movement, hand movement and head joints. so really, if you cannn the energon combinders bad, then you must be calling the g1 ones bad as well

Energon Superion does have a design flaw, the peg and the hole that should hole the chest down are too small, to actually hold it in. The best I've been able to do, is use on of those transparent rubber bands that come with the figures to hold it in place. But I suppose if you could find a stick that is the same width as the peg, so you can glue it on to add some legth to the piece, it might make it more stable.
I think you also need to rotate his crotch a little more. It should be flush with the back of the plane.
In any case, yes it is a design flaw. But i have to say, the combiners aren't as bad as everybody makes them out to be. I have all 3 centerpieces. and at least one of each limb mould, (I'm missing some of the repaints), and they are pretty good.
