Takara Differences?

Postby Bonecrusher27 » Tue Jul 17, 2007 9:22 pm

Anyone can advise me on what the known differences are between the Takara and the mainstream figures are? I know about BB '74, I looked at my Takara Prime, the box still says made in China.

So I'm wondering if it's two manufacturing plants producing for each company (my China friends couldn't tell me as of this moment), or just an agreement between Hasbro and Takara to have different specifications. Wonder if the QC for both lines of the same standard too.

I think the big difference is that takara figures have diecast metal in them. Although I can't be a 100% sure that is the case.

If we're talking movie figures, as far as I know, the only difference is that 74 BB has clear windows in the Takara version and colored for the US.

That may not be it. My Jazz and Barricade feel completely plastic to me.
