TF Collector's Club: Worth it

Postby Jiah » Fri Sep 20, 2013 3:26 pm

Motto: "If you can't beat 'em, you probably need a bigger gun."
Weapon: Cannon
I haven't seen anything on this topic, and not sure where it would be discussed anyways, so I hope it's ok to ask some questions here.

I am interested in getting a Collector's Club membership, but want to know if it's worth it, and what membership I should get.
-I am interested first in receiving the yearly figure, does that mean I have to wait until the new year to get it?
- What's the major differences between memberships?
- Is this a good way to get exclusive Transformers?
- Do they sell old Transformers/Transformers that they made a while ago?

Thanks for any help!

I joined it 2 years ago and did not have a good experience. I still wasn't able to buy their exclusive figures because they were sold out before I knew they were available. They stopped sending me the TFCC magazine. To me if I have to spend extra on the exclusive figures at a site like BBTS then what's the point of having a subscription.

If you subscribe now, you'll receive next year's incentive figure Rampage whenever they send them out to everyone. This is usually shortly before or after Botcon.

I think the only difference is how quickly you get the magazine. I typically do the $42/yearly or so membership and I get the magazine about two weeks after the folks with the more expensive one do. The magazine, imo, is not worth that extra cost, but they do a decent job with it.

If you're into what they put out, then yes, but keep in mind the membership, outside of the free figure, gives you a "right to buy" so to speak that isn't available to others. Also, you need a club membership to do the Figure Subscription Service or to buy any other exclusives (Next year's is Transmutate, but past examples would be the classic Runamuck/Runabout and the e-hobby SG Tape decks).

Only what hasn't sold out. Check out their store for what's currently available.
