TF video games
So I am getting totally pumped for the Transformers War for Cybertron game coming out Fall 2010. I am going to find it very difficult to wait untill Fall for this game to come out so I am looking for other transformers games to play in the meantime. I don't want to play games based on the two new movies because I think they are all lame. Found one for PS2 that looks semi appealing. I thought a game or two existed for SNES featuring the Transformers. Any suggestions would be awesome. Looking forward to transforming and rolling out in the near future.

Transformers: Comvoy no Nazo, it was only released in japan and was made to explain what happened to convoy, it looks terrible, by nes standerds, it's a one hit kill game, and on the box it was comvoy, even though in japan optimus prime is convoy

Re: TF video games
of course none of those were actually any good
youd be happier playing the transformers armada playstation game, or if you could find it or import it the G1 transformers playstation 2 game , but that was only in japan, called Transformers Tataki
aside from the movie games thats about it
you know whAT, THEY MADE A COUPLE OF BEAST WARS games, one for pc, then a playstation port for it, then they made a beast wars transmetals game for playstation and n64, but the 64 one was only avialable for rent at video stores, and it was a fighting game
well now im done

The older TF games, the Famicom one, Commodore 64, those were bad, skip them.
There were two Beast Wars games, one based on Transmetals was a fighting game, but not a sidescroller like your typical fighter, you could move around much more freely. That one was on Nintendo 64 and, I think Playstation 1.
The other Beast Wars game was a shooter, and awful. the voice acting sounded like the worst fan-dub ever, the Transmetals game got the original cast, this one did not. The game itself made no sense, to this day very few people have any idea what you were fighting. Like the show, you'd take damage if you remained in Robot mode for too long, which is a gameplay feature I'd only accept if the rest of the game is good, which, as I've stated, it is not. It was on PC, and again, I think PS1. But also, skip it.
Then there was the Armada game on PS2, simple called "Transformers." It had a picture of Armada Optimus Prime, if that helps you distinguish it better from the movie games. It was also, and this is a shocker, a really good game. It only had something like six levels, and only three playable character. Either way, get it if you can.
The Japanese game, Transformers Tatakai, is...unique. It had really good voice acting, despite being only available in Japan, all the lines were spoken in English, and were surprisingly close to the original voices from G1. That said, the gameplay was awful, you fought an army of lookalikes transforming was useless, fighting was tedious and repetitive...you get it. If you want, import it, I can't recommend it.
The first movie game was...okay. I mean the 360/PS3 version, though, I don't know about the PS2/Wii version. It played very much like Hulk: Ultimate Destruction, which is a really good game. But it was short, kind of annoying, very restrictive, and you had no control over who you played as. Not terrible, but I can't recommend it.
The PSP movie game was different. Though it was very linear (You had no option to explore areas) you also had a much larger cast of playable characters. Most of them were only available in the online mode, and good luck finding someone who wants to play that. It was very short, but overall, it wasn't too terrible. Get it if you REALLY want too.
The Revenge of the Fallen game, I haven't played yet. From what I've heard, it's actually MUCH better than the first movie game.

Both Beast Wars and Beast Wars: Transmetals are on the PS1. I should know because I have them both for that system. As well as Beast Wars: Transmetals for the N64.
