The Official Transformers: Prime Discussion Thread
Re: The Official Transformers: Prime Discussion Thread
Ratchet's decision could be pivotal from a long term strategical standpoint, but it's a mess in the short term. I'm interested to see how this unfolds though as I see 3 options for him. First he can complete the formula and give it to the cons with the hope that the bots intervene. Second he can complete the formula and try and escape with his knowledge. Third he could sabotage and delay while awaiting rescue or death.

Someone could take what you said seriously. Just clarifying that he isn't actually jumping ship for real.PrymeStriker wrote:Sabrblade wrote:"Being forced to/giving in to the demands of the enemy" =/= "switching allegiences"PrymeStriker wrote:I suggested many moons ago that Ratchet would "switch sides." Switching sides was in quotation marks. Didn't you just reinforce my point?

So? Shockwave's cannon arm replaced his original arm after Grimlock bit and tore it off, just as Magnus's claw replaced his old hand. That Bot wrote:Regarding Shockwave's jab at Magnus, the difference between them is that Shockwave has a cannon for an arm, while Magnus has a prosthetic claw.

Or complete it and use it on himself to turn into Roid Rage Ratchet, like back in TMI, and try to make a run for it with a sample, while leaving a nasty surprise for the Decepticons.

Yea kinda, I just really wanted to write Roid Rage Ratchet, it's the three "Rs"

Plus it kinda sounds like a pointless repaint ala the Movie Bumblebee line.

though as i see it the final battle will be for control of the nemisis -which actually is a viable option for the bots -the cons have lost a lot of troops -given they had a finite number to begin with its possible between just regular battles and massive explosions and the loses during the thirst and the lost of the insecticons that the cons are starting to run low on man power at this point -it would not be impossible for the bots to take the nemisis intact and use the omega lock on cybertron --plus the space bridge is also a possible they could shoot a beam right through it to cybertron and fix the world from earth -hopefully cybertron will be repaired -also another possible is that there will be a fight on the nemisis and prime will grab the star saber from the room which it is the only item now stored there since aracnid and the forge are gone

Re: The Official Transformers: Prime Discussion Thread
Great episode. Shockwave vs Magnus is a good match, and Ratchet and Megatrons discussions were good. I agree about the lameness of the base thing though. You would definitely think they would use coordinate and not actually be looking for a letter e, especially when they could blow up the whole thing. Would've been better if fowler had shown them an underground section or something that they didn't know about, like some kind of bunker that they hid under.
I also actually enjoyed Raf, and his "yip yip yip" thing, made me laugh.

I just had a thought. What if during the predacons rising events airachnid infects 5 predacons and bestows upon them the ability to combine. That way we get 5 preds who are actually terrorcons to for abominus.

That's only if the Preds actually make it back to Cybertron(or even to its moon). Suppose the movie keeps them confined to Earth.njb902 wrote:I just had a thought. True. Though, it's possible the Beast hunters comic might have their own plans for her.njb902 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:That's only if the Preds actually make it back to Cybertron(or even to its moon). Unless the comics plan to use her in a way that would interfere with the cartoon's story.njb902 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:True. The way I see it, her fate in "Thirst" looked kinda like an attempt to write her out of the show without having to kill her off, so that future/external media could make their own use of her.
But, who knows what either the comics or cartoon have in store for her. We'll see.

personally i see this as something that might show up -depends how they rap prime up if megatron is dead or not or if any of the cons servive besides the preds -i think what might happen is shockwave has another batch of clones some where else as a secondary plan -if megatron falls predaking or himself is probably going to take power over starscream -i think it will be interesting
also i would like a continuation of the series in comic form but i don't know if that will happen

Or, the first batch he made in the cave could be revealed to have not been completely destroyed, but rather contained within the chaotic mess of Cybermatter acting as a sort of cocoon that they could bust out of once they finish maturing.chaosmage42 wrote:personally i see this as something that might show up -depends how they rap prime up if megatron is dead or not or if any of the cons servive besides the preds -i think what might happen is shockwave has another batch of clones some where else as a secondary plan

I hope both of these characters get a proper send off since this is a very complex, mutli-faceted Starscream, and a very noble Predaking.chaosmage42 wrote:-if megatron falls predaking or himself is probably going to take power over starscream -i think it will be interesting
In a way, Predaking kind of reminds me of Villamax from Power Rangers Lost Galaxy.

Well... there is the current Beast Hunters comic series running concurrently with the series.chaosmage42 wrote:also i would like a continuation of the series in comic form but i don't know if that will happen

I wonder is there a possibility that Ratchet will be working for Bots on Nemesis all along...
Another great episode, it was really nice to see Prime owned by Predaking, I'm wonder did Preadking could Incinerate someone who use Phase Shifter? After all, this artifact supposed to have some drawbacks.
Also so far Preadking seems to be almost unstopable, I wonder how Autobots deal with him...
Of course there is as always one question, why Decepeticons could be fooled so easily?

Solicitations for upcoming Beast Hunters issues strongly suggest that the comics take place very close to the present day. Like it was said at Botcon, the comic will align with the show around issue 6 or 7, which seems right according to their descriptions.

Episode 64 -
Missed the very first minute or so. Came in when Ratchet was impressed by Shockwave's equipment and knowledge.'
Knock Out's getting all bent out of shape over being the Igor to Shockwave's Dr. Frankenstein.
Okay, HOW did Knock Out fail to see that the door to the CNA sample cabinet wasn't fully shut when he was looking at Ratchet?
Oh, so that clip of Ratchet sabotaging the plan was from an early part of the episode.
Oh Knock Out, concerned about you finish as ever.
Optimus vs. the Jet Vehicon Generals = Awesome.
Move, Ratchet, move!
Uh oh, Megs got him.
Welp, there goes Chip.
Despite Ratchet's attempts at sabotage, the formula is now stable.
And Ratchet gets thrown into the room with Predaking, who wants Ratchet to feel the same feeling of defenselessness his brethren felt when the Autobots massacred them. He wants justice.
Thanks to the little slip up by Knock Out from earlier, Ratchet was able to explain to Predaking the truth about the other Predacons being destroyed, in that Megatron planned it all along because Megatron feared Predaking.
Ratchet has dropped the ship's cloaking, contacted Optimus to give him the coordinates and inform the Autobots of the Omega Lock, and now Optimus orders a full storming of the ship.
The Autobots and locked and loaded, marching out in slow motion to a Peter Cullen speech.
Predaking is MAD. He's coming for Megatron, who wants to fight him with the Dark Star Saber.
Too late. Predaking closes in before Megs can get his sword.
However, an awesome battle ensues, nonetheless, with Megatron besting Predaking in the end, even without the sword.
And now the ship is under Autobot attack.
The time for the final showdown has come.
So glad that Predaking learned the truth. I was hoping he'd get a chance to redeem himself in the end. And with him not being fully killed, I'm fully confident that we'll see more of him later.
And next week, the grand finale.
