Ok, on Monday I had the biggest terror that could ever be put into a human being. Keep in mind I was quite the delinquent in my younger days, I've had 3 drug OD's, come really close to going to prison 3 times (never convincted, thank god), and had a gun pulled on me once. Those pale in comparison to this:
My wife went into labor on Monday, 2 days past due. Everything was going fine for about 6 hours. Then the moment of truth hits, and the baby starts coming out. My wife's mother and I are in the room, when the baby's heart monitor starts going off. The monitor went from 140 to 60. My wife pushed, but couldn't get the baby out. Then I hear the doctor screaming into the hall to prep the OR and get a surgeon. My wife started going hysterical, as did I and next thing you know they wheel her out into the OR. So there her mother and I are, with no answers, I'm bawling hysterically, screaming and puking all over the floor wondering how the hell I'm supposed to survive and raise my 7 year old daughter without her mother, the woman I've been with for almost 10 years, since I was 20 years old. Sometime goes by, and no one tells us anything. I'm cursing God at this point, for not being on my side, and offering my soul to Satan for their sake. Then the nurse comes out, and luckily God was on my side. What had happened was that the umbilical cord had gotten wrapped around the baby's neck twice, and when my wife was pushing the baby was getting strangled. So they did and emergency C-section (and had to make a very large incision) and pull the baby out the other way, and on the way out the baby swallowed a very large amount of amniotic fluid and almost drowned. So I'm freaking out now about brain damage, which the doctor assured me after the tests the baby was fine. So my wife's laying in bed on a morphine drip, and I'm learning how to care for a baby who I was terrified to even pick up. Then the baby wouldn't eat for a day, because he was still puking up all that fluid. However, this story does have a happy ending:
My wife will fully recover (save for a large scar from being stapled), and I'm the father of a baby boy named Sebastian, who came in at 8 pounds and 13 ounces and dwarfed every other kid in the nursery (I swear I think I saw stubble when he came out). As for the not eating, he finished puking and is now eating just fine.
The single most terrifying moment of my life or anyone else's (kinda long)

Congrats on the new addition to the family.
I know of your fear in this sort of prenatal situation.
In 2004 while my wife was pregnant for our second daughter she had a partial placental eruption in her 32nd week.
That is when the placenta starts to tear from the uterus and there is alot of blood.
We at first thought my wife had miscarried (nothing like that feeling of dread) but the doctor told us else wise. Her doctor told us that if it happened again that my wife would die but they could save the baby with one problem.. She would be mentally handicapped. She had to remain in the hospital on bed rest for the next 39 days until she made 36 weeks and they could then do the c-section (that was already planned).
She went in on Nov 23rd (2 days before Thanksgiving) and came out on Dec 29th (the baby was born on Dec 26th)..
Now some 2+ years later our baby is smart as a whip and as beautiful as ever.

Not a sheeple.
Think for yourself, don't let the magic TV box and social media do the thinking for you.
Question EVERYTHING!!
Just because you have a youtube review channel doesn't make you special.
I look forward to attending a Botcon soon only to settle matters with several idiots in person (yes this is a threat).

Congratulations! I'm glad that both your wife and Sebastian are okay. I can't imagine what it must have felt like to be in that situation. Best wishes.

I'm very happy for you and your family.
I agree about the scariness, my son was born Tuesday (seperate thread coming as soon as I'm done posting this)
And had fairly little complications and I was still scared as hell for his saftey.
on a side note, my son beat out your son in size, by almost a pound
You luck man! We're both gonna need it!
Also my best to your wife, I hope she has a speedy recovery.

Wow...
I can't say I blame you for being as freaked out as you were. But from what I can see, you will be a good father to Sebastian. Seeing as how you cared enough to pledge your soul elsewhere for him. Now THAT is dedication.
You get a round of applause

That's really scary. I'm glad everything in the end turned out alright.
