Things you will like to see again in TF's

Postby osiricon » Mon Apr 23, 2007 1:21 pm

I am sure there is a long list of things G1 to now. The 1 thing that seems trivial that I would like to see again is the bio cards ans stickers of the character you just bought. They were in Armada and Energon, and bio cards on G1's. I would like to see those come back. These cards to my kids are like the Garbage Pail Kids were to me.

What do you miss?

Does anybody have Armada and Energon cards/stickers they dont want? I will gladly accept them all!! Just throwing that out there.

Weapon: Indepentently Targetable Particle Beam Cannons
Headmasters.

Or Guns that are actually guns, and not part of the Vehicle Mode. Or Translucent plastic.

I miss the old school G1 catalogue inserts that I have stored somewhere. They did an awesome job of displaying them in those little fold outs with the black background. I'd give Hasbro bonus points if they displayed them like the old school Sears catalogues that actually would place them in battle action scenes with fake trees and stuff. I don't even know if anyone remembers what I am talking about, but those always appealed to me and I would look at those and try to figure out which figures I wanted next.

Also it would be cool to get exclusive mail-in transformers with you robot points or whatever. I still have an insert for the mail-away offer on Reflector.

I had two of em...a bot one and a con one on my wall. Whenever I got a new TF that was on the poster, I'd tick the checklist.

Headmasters and Combiners...I'd also like to see them producing figures for more than a week...I'm tired of TFs becoming e-bay fodder a day after they are released.

I'm glad you guys remember those inserts. They really looked cool, plus they were a great way for Hasbro to market the line.

I don't want to sound all back in my day the G1's... but I also like their style of packaging in the boxes. The new classics line just doesn't have the luster those older, simpler boxes did, plus they weren't shaped so ridiculous that you can't store them proper or they are just thrown on the shelves by retailers because they can't display them very well. There is just something cool about that old box.

it was clearly labelled too. Red Boxes for Autobots, Purple for Decepticons.

I loved that grid design on the boxes too

Sadly, I was too young to remember ever seeing G1 boxes at that time. But i know what you all are saying. I get a rush everytime i see an 80's toy either still in box or loose

They could modernize it if need be. Mattel did a great job at this when they intorduced the new Masters of the Universe line. The package totally reminded me of the old He-Man packages.

There is something about that G1 box style that gives me goosebumps to this day whenever I buy a MIB or MISB transformer. Maybe it just reminds me of when I got them as presents when I was a kid, but they are one of the more recognizable stlye toy packages. It got my attention from across the store when they started re-releasing the commemoratives at TRU.

Really? I had a hard time finding some stuff during Energon, but Armada, RiD, Cybertron, Titaniums, Alts, everything really, has had pretty great availability.

Sometimes, like with Energon Ironhide or Cybertron Red Alert that availability was too great... :?

Have you read any of the general complaining about the Titanium line? While a neat collector's gimmick, there is no way an entire main-line Transformers line could or even should be die cast again.

Oh to be a kid in the 80's to early 90's. We really had the best toys along with 30 minute cartoon/commercials. Transformers, GI Joe, He-Man, Ninja Turltes, Voltron, Thundercats, I'm sure I could name more.

Kids now don't have much to look back on, "Man remember how cool our Pokemon cards were and our Yu-Gi-Oh cards were even cooler. The games were so complex that no one ever really knew how to play it plus you could draw out a move for 30 minutes while explaining some obscure loophole explaining why my piece of crap card is about to beat your super-awesome-could-never-be-beat card, just like on the show!"

ah yes. I miss how cartoons used to be nothing but 30minute commercials. I miss the space hogging boxes. I miss poking my eyes out with long missles and smoke stacks. I miss getting shot at by cops because my megatron didnt have safety orange on the end. :( i wanna be a kid again...
