Well, yesterday I managed to find the TRU exclusive Titanium War Within Optimus vs Megatron, and snagged that puppy (it's the only Ti WW Megs that has shown up in Memphis), and tore the box open the second I got home.
First, they SURE don't want those suckers moving around in the package... more twist ties than I knew what to do with. >.<
Second... the difference in overall quality between Megs and Prime is TREMENDOUS. I pick up Prime, and the whole thing rattles around and the legs flop more than a bit. But when I pick up Megs, he's rock solid.
Megatron:
The robot mode is nicely broad and intimidating. Bristling with weapons and mostly a nice metallic silver and flat black (with the occasional yellow and red detailing, and (obviously) a purple Decepticon symbol), he just looks mean. The main gun caneither rest on his back, or flip over his left shoulder, which I for one prefer. The shield and secondary cannon, unfortunately, do NOT fit on the holes on the backs of the forearms, because the posts are either too loose (the gun) or not long enough (both), so they have to be hand-held. Transformation is simple, yet actually slightly more complex than I expected, but the vehicle mode still looks like he's simply lying down, not actually transformed. However, overall, he's a pretty decent hunk of metal and plastic. My only complaint is the limitedarticulation - his legs have decent hip articultion but his knees barely bend 45 degrees back, and his shoulders can only rotate - no side-side articulation at all.
Optimus:
I really don't need to say much here, as it's all been said already. In a word, floppy. The arms pop off at the slightet provocation (though they pop back on readily enough), but it can't really hold muchof a pose. Transformation is roughly the same difficulty as WW Megs, BUT ends up not quite as much looking like he's lying down - as long as you don't look at it from the top or back, where the hands are blatantly visible. The paint apps aren't as good as on Megs, and the ones on the stomach look more like a ten year old was trying to hard than they do a professionally designed job. But I still like him, both because it's a very good likeness of the comic version, but also because I actually like his vehicle mode.
Extras:
Well, it comes with the issue of War Within that features Megs and Prime 'travelling' through the Matrix and getting glimpses of the future - on Earth and on Nebulon. Good at least for the artwork since there's not much you can do about the story being right in the middle of the series.
Overall... it was worth it for me for $30, mainly because I actually like the figures (Megs more than Prime, though). For others... well, maybe if you're a completist or a War Within fan...

I got one too a couple days back. VERY nice. At least WWI Prime can stand up well compared to crappier figures like Ti Soundwave and Ti Megatron GI Joe thing. Very happy with both. My only gripe is that they do not come with display stands. making them the only 2 Titaniums I have without them. Looks out of place, sadly.

they got a whole grip of them at TRU around here
and i feel you on those twist ties, i got tired of untying them and just started cutting the little bastards
speaking of Ti Soundwave, does anyone have any tips on getting him to stand up without his legs collapsing, he's too badass to be on display stuck in tape player mode

Nail clippers work well on them.

I'm returning mine tomorrow because his legs won't even stay attached to him. Looks great, but he is a POS of a figure. That's what I get for being optimistic.

I got my set about two weeks ago...my Titanium collection would be so baren without at least one Prime and Megatron to stare each other down on the shelf!
WELL worth the $30 spent.
Only problem is, I ordered the set of G1 Ultra Magnus, WW The Fallen, and WW Megatron from BBTS...which will leave me with an extra WW Megatron.
Oh well, to Carbombya with you!

i hear the two pack doesn't come with the stands? that kinda sucks, even though the stands kinda suck, it's the principle of the thing

that's EXACTLY what i used

and i saw a Rodimus at a Kmart yesterday (same place i got the soundwave) but i passed because of the problems i have with displaying the Ti figures properly, i think i'm just gonna put the soundwave back in the box and display him like that
and it's true the Megatron and Prime Ti figures DO NOT come with the stands unfortunately

Considering I have no clue where most of my Ti stands ARE, I have absolutely no problem with the fact that they don't have their stands.
I'm thinking Galoob approached the entire line from the opposite direction than they should have. They're used to making NOTHING but display pieces in the Titanium lines, so when they were told that the 6" figs would transform, they didn't bother with joint tightness or the like because they thought EVERYONE would only display them. As the line went on and they got feedback, they realized their error and started cracking down on joint tightness and strength, thus the considerable difference between the beginning of the line and the end.
