Transformers : Extensive remoulding ; Your thoughts & concepts discussion

Inspired by this image (found on Allspark) :

This seems to be a design for what Retrax/Powerhug would look like as a Cyborg Beast.

Which got me thinking with all the remoulding we see these days - especially of vehicle mode shells - what sort of interesting toys could you get out of remoulding existing "past" toys into something else - I remember having this thought before when Cybertron Blurr came out too.

The sort of thing i'm thinking of to use some examples is :

How Armada Starscream became Armada Skywarp.
How Generations FOC Grimlock became Adventures (RID-15) Grimlock
or how the Cyborg Beasts were made from (mainly) Beast Wars toys.
or even some of the Beast Hunters toys that do this sort of thing

What might an existing toy look like if it was remoulded to be covered in bonkers Mad Max style spikes (perhaps there is an idea for a Combiner wars Lockdown in there somewhere). or perhaps existing toys could get armour like Beast Hunters Smokecreen had.

If such a thing was done perhaps it might make an interesting idea for a Universe like sub-theme of the Transformers Brand.

Such belated remoulds need not be as extensive as Beast Hunters RID-12 Ultra Magnus for example with very few changes would make for a nice Thunderclash.

Speaking of which another idea might be to take existing toys and add some sort of "feature" accessory like Targetmasters or a Turbomaster style engine turbine/launcher. (something like that would fit on/in Generations Drift for example)

But to return to the Cyborg Beast idea there could be a Cyborg Beast Shadow Panther (Cheetor) or Rhinox even (perhaps using the newer moulds).

Also remember those RPM cars that looked like a partially Transformed car that exposed internals - the same idea could be used on cars too - it would still look zombie like with exposed parts but could have a vehicle mode - again the theme could also cross over with that mad max look to make a Transformer look like it had been poorly repaired with scrap or had parts of it's armour burned away.

Just a few thoughts anyway - can you think of anything that might work as an extensive remould - and what sort of thematic idea should such a remould take (Not just the usual character mods like how Optimus was modded into Utra Magnus in Transformers Prime).

Please share your thoughts.

Motto: "That's [not out yet/never came out] in my area."

One of my favorite remoldings was the unexpected remolding of RTS Tracks into Gen Wheeljack. And it worked really, really well, so much so that I consider Wheeljack the better use of the mold. Meanwhile, go look at G1 Tracks and Wheeljack and tell me you could ever imagine they'd use the same mold for those guys. I really like that sort of remolding, characters you'd never expect to be mold mates, but just blows it out of the park.

Just adding spikes and stuff, I don't really like that method so much. Beast Hunters figures that were new molds worked better for me than ones that were just old figures with spikes added all over (speaking of another Wheeljack).
