This is the head design Megatron should have had to begin with.
Shame he doesn't look like he turns into anything, though. Movieverse "Cybertronian" alt modes are even more BS than other continuities' "Cybertronian" modes.

Transformers ARE metal aliens. And I'm sorry, they just don't look like TRANSFORMERS. They straight look like metal aliens.
I don't care for it either, but it seems like an actual story, unlike what we have gotten in RoTF and AoE. A pattern seems to be emerging where all the odd numbered ones are pretty good and all the even numbered ones are turds. We'll see.And why has Transformers suddenly become the robotic version of Medieval times? What's with all this swords and knights stuff?
Well, they're supposed to have Merlin in the movie, and he is kind of the Transformers version of a wizard, so maybe. What, will Alpha Trion appear and be a robotic sorcerer?

I actually quite like this megatron design, and as for how he's megatron again, maybe the creators made a new one to hunt down optimus but galavtron takes over the body again becoming the megs we all remember.

Best Cybertronian design of all time. He looks like something right out of Dark Souls, if Dark Souls was about a bunch of alien robots.

Don't know why, buy I wouldn't be surprised if there were a blue repaint of this megatron's figure, and it was named Straxus/Darkmount

As long as the figure was good, I would that/those repaints.

These designs are a result of your critical feedback remember this.
This goes for Barricade and Megatron
I kind of doubt they're a result of anyone here lol. This part of the forums mostly amounts to people being angry over the movies' existence
I do think we have an impact. Maybe not individually, but collectively yes. For isntance, it was fan demand that made Michael Bay ask Peter Cullen to come in for an audition. He wasn't considered initially (I am assuming they would have gotten a big ticket name and tweaked the voie, like they did with Hugo Weaving).
Also, Age of Extinction really shows that they took feedback to heart. There was no humping dog jokes, no bodily fluid joke, and way less comic relief. They even went out of their way to have the main comic relief get brutally killed within the first 20 minutes just as a statement that things were different. Plus they colour coordinated the team and held the shots more, making the action easier to follow and know who is fighting who. And also they finally gave the transformers as much screen time as the humans and finally made Optimus prime the main character of the film (or shared with Cade, but still main). The Transformers were secondary characters in their own films for the first 3 movies and that has bugged me to no end.
This film so far seems to be taking things into an even better direction.

Dont be sorry. With that comment I am assuming you werent around for the past decade. Maybe you were busy, or off world. In any case, I am glad your back, there is lots to catch up on.

Ultron stole the Transformer Bay design aesthetic first so it's only fair.
Yup, Ultron looked nothing like he did in the comics, I am certain they took a cue from the live action Transformers films. This is just the original inspiration taking it back and owning it (Its like the people saying that the new tomb raider games took cues from the Uncharted series, which were just taking cues from the origial Tomb Raider games)

Oh I think they are all BS, especially that toy we got for Voyager Animated Megatron.

You beat me to it, thats how I think it will all link up.
SlyTF1 wrote:Best Cybertronian design of all time. He looks like something right out of Dark Souls, if Dark Souls was about a bunch of alien robots.
I will agree with you. I think these are a really nice cross between the designs we see in the WFC/FOC games and the movie aesthetic. Its a nice equilibrium which works very well. I cant wait to see how this plays out on screen and how the toys look. I really hope they arent shellformers like in AOE.
[/quote]EvasionModeBumblebee wrote:I really like this new design! the face is still unmistakably movie Megatron.
Still wondering how the whole Galvatron/ Megatron thing is going to work out. . .
Rumour has it this film is going to ignore a lot that has come before and try to be its own thing, like a soft reboot (kinda like how the last one was). This is the first film to come out of that writers room so it makes sense that things start anew with the designs. The Galvatron name was linked to his new body and he owned it while he was in it. But here he has a new body and thus goes back to his original cybertronian namesake. I wouldnt worry too much about it and I dont think it will be adressed.

While I like Cullen, that is a great pic for Optimus Prime. I know this is random, but Neeson is finally the right age to play Magneto so I hope he ends up playing him in an upcoming film.

If the Creators are coming to invade Earth, then this could be an Optimus and Megatron/Galvatron "team up" movie like some of the older shows where they had to team up sometimes, since maybe Megatron doesn't want to be back under Creator control the same way as Optimus in AOE.
Not sure Megatron will be the main villain this time even if he doesn't team up, since the promo poster shows Optimus going against something that looks like Predaking.
That, or the Autobots defeat Creators early on and Megatron steals some of their powers or tech.

Also a thought:
In Age of Extinction, it was mentioned that Optimus was one of the original knights, built to do what his creators said. Now, in my head canon at this point, I am saying that the Allspark gave them the free will that made them rebel, making fully sentient beings from old machines (remember: my current head canon!). Now, what if Megatron was also one of the original knights, and Lockdown wasn't looking for him to collect since he was presumed dead, or because Megatron was doing something the creators liked but Optimus was not by standing against him?

I thought he came later. They really said "original"? Because it seemed like the Dinobots were even older (more like stuff of legend) to the point where the newer autobots were unaware of their existence. Of course if you have o be told something is legendary, then that kind of defeats the purpose, but thats more of a screenwriting problem.

From TFWiki:
Lockdown throws Prime in a cage and orders his lackeys to dispose of Tessa. Prime takes note of several other aliens in similar cages, including other Cybertronian warriors. He also discovers the original purpose of the mercenary ship: it was originally used by a group of legendary Knights (presumably including Prime himself) but now acts as Lockdown's flying prison.

well I don't have to agree with you either. I notice bay's design are trashy with pieces of metal scribble garbage sticking out. it's ugly and sloppy. too ugly for my liking. it is so unoriginal and uninspiring. plot, shaky action scenes and dialogue included. that is my opinion. whether you accept it or not.
