Transformers The Movie Blu Ray?
Any knowledge or even rumors that this might be happening? Seems like it'd definitely be appropriate for the 30th anniversary coming up. Just seems inevitable, especially with GI Joe The Movie getting the treatment.

Not for the U.S., no. It's been on Blu-Ray in the UK and Australia for a few years now, though.

So no plans? Doesn't make sense to me. Gotta be in the works for next year.
How's the image quality on the UK blu ray? Is it worth tracking down? I only have a crappy DVD edition that was put out around 2000. Wasn't sure if I should go for the blu ray edition currently available or the 20th anniversary DVD.

The 20th Anniversary DVD from Sony contains both a cropped widescreen version and an uncropped fullscreen version that both looks good, and I'm happy with it.Dean ML wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Not for the U.S., no. It's been on Blu-Ray in the UK and Australia for a few years now, though.

The Blu-Rays look even nicer, but they don't have the uncropped fullscreen version that contains the whole picture.
The UK Blu-Ray has no bonus content, while the Australian Blu-Ray has a bunch of extras. But, the extras won't play on a U.S. player since they're in PAL format while the movie itself is Region Free.
Here's a comparison between the UK Blu-Ray and three DVD versions (UK "Reconstructed" DVD, Sony's fullscreen DVD, and Sony's widescreen DVD). Let me know if you can get the pics to work or not - http://www.avsforum.com/t/1169049/the-transformers-the-movie-1986-4-dvds-vs-blu-ray-uk-comparison-pix
