He guys I was looking os T.F. Source to buy a maketoy devastator and I saw an amazing thing.
It was the fansprojecs paralax ultramagnus trailer kit with missles and gun kit for 130 dollars.
The odd thing is that under it was the ultramagnus armor for 250.
Whats the differance? Is the trailer kit with missles a still the armor? If I buy it it turns a classics voyager magnus into city commander justy the same as the armor set right or wrong?
I also wondering why the better item with the gun and shoulder missles is cheaper than the armor without gun and missles?

The trailer kit is merely an expansion for City Commander AFAIK, the set does not come with the trailer itself.

Hang on now. So if I buy the trailer kit it will not transform into bot mode? Am I to learn that to have a complete vity commander it will run about 600 dollars then?
WOW!! That kind of......disgusts me. If that isnt taking advantage of collectors then I dont know what is.
They should havce released the shoulder missles, blaster and trailer with the original set all together. Instead they retooled a retool and then retooled a retool retool.
Sad part is the generations magnus looks fantastic but is so incredibly small that he is almost not worth owning.
I am commited to owning city commander though so I guess Im going to have to do some work online.
There is a complete city commander on ebay with a broken head for 300. I may buy it and fix it...

Yeah, go with the 2nd link that LOST Cybertronian posted. The product in the first link is probably a lot more expensive because it's a limited run, regardless if the second+ release has more bang for your buck. That's just the collectors market for ya.

They sorta did back in the day. They released a pretty cheap set of shoulder missiles and handgun as a standalone in addition to the full v2 kit. Of course the standalone kit wasn't as numerous so finding it all by itself is nearly impossible.

o.k. tHIS ANSWERS MY QUESTION. i THought I was just reading wrong or that it was mislabeled or something. I couldnt believe that the armor without the upgrades was more expensive than the armor with the upgrades.
It just dosent make much sense. Luckily for us this transformer toy market hasnt made a whole lot of sense as of late and as a result we can apparently buy the whole damn set cheaper than the armor alone.

Also does classics magnus actually go inside the armor like the original one did in the G-1 TOY?

He's already Voyager size. This set makes him even larger. For details on how the set works and attaches to the bot mode etc. you can check out the reviews of him (there are many, one of which can be found here).

agreed. Im glad I asked first because I was thinking that the city commander could stand alone without classics magnus and that classics magnus was only there to be the semi in alt mode.
I found the whole damn set classics magnus and all for two fifty on ebay but the head is broken off the city commander armor.
Theres a pic provided of the break and I think I can fix it so Ill buy it.
I just hope my taxes arrive before its gone!!
I wish to god hasbro would have made a voyager fall of cybertron magnus instead of that little guy they put out.
He should be named ULTRA SADNESS IMO!!!
Magnus would have been a much better candidate for a voyager upgrade than blaster, soundwave or samurai megs!!

Magnus is even the smallest of the already small FOC figs, not to mention he is a repaint of prime which means prime is also the smallest of the small. It just boggles the mind ya know? The ones that should be the largest being the smallest and all?
Magnus is such a sought after figure too. It would have made sense for hasbro to have saved some face after being beaten up so badly with the city commander figure.
To come so close only to fall short by making him so small is just sad.
I like the FOC magnus mold ALOT. Perhaps even more so than the city commander armor, but the size will cause me to pass him up for city commander.
I may also hold out for that beast wars magnus though. It looks like it shows alot of promise, but Im expecting hasbro to drop the ball on color scheme.
It just seems to good to be true for them to do this one right. I wish I didnt feel this way but I do. Heres hoping I have to eat my words.

Well, since the FansProject set requires the Classics Magnus, that means that all FP did was increase Hasbro's sales of that particular figure so Hasbro still made plenty on it .

Regarding FoC Magnus, the same might happen with him. Check this out.

OMG! YES! YES!
I was going to create a thtread asking if anyone thought that there would be an upgrade to the foc magnus, but decided not to because I didnt believe it would happen what with the perfect city commander figure already out.
This changes everything for me and saved me 300 bucks!
I cannot wait for this! I finally get to make use of an upgrade armor without first buying the base figure for 200 bucks!
