Universe octane non-moving wheels

Postby herculesbeetle » Sat Jan 16, 2016 2:51 pm

I heard that universe octane has 2 wheels that cannot roll. Are they out of the way or do they drag when you roll the truck?

They are at the same height as the rolling ones, so they will drag. The non rolling ones are the ones without the silver pin in the middle. Third set of wheels from the front.

But the undercarriage at the front will drag also a little, so don't expect smooth rolling out of this figure.

I'd keep it in Jet Mode. It's the better of the 2 alt modes.

Since it bothers me that the wheels and the propellers get in the way, should I just cut off the propellers and sand down the wheels for better rolling?

Will this help the figure roll better in tanker mode?

I know the plane would look less accurate to a cargo plane.

I just don't see removing parts making it better. Its unfortunately the weakest of the triple changers.

I guess sanding down the fake wheels would be an option. And Making sure the propellers are properly tucked under the cab should alleviate most dragging.

But what about cutting off the propellers. In fact the truck is my favorite mode of all three. :CON:

They are pinned onto the wings. You can totally remove them and see how that works.

can you describe how I revive the pins and propellers? Should I use pliers to remove the pins?

I think the easiest would be too heat up the propellers, and pop them off the pins once they are soft enough. Trying to pry the pins out may run the risk of cracking the wings.

So you are saying leave the pins in but melt off the propellers with a lighter?

Are there any other parts that impeded octane's rolling?

-Thanks

No, don't melt them with a lighter. Simply heat them up with a blow drier, or warm water, so they are soft enough to pop off.

No destruction is necessary.

I believe those 2 are the ones that cause dragging issues.

I do not have hair dryer. If,I use war water should I wrap a Towell with hot water around the propellers?

-Thanks

Just heat up a pot of water and dunk it in (not too hot, definitely don't want to boil it).

Just dip the propellers in the hot water to soften them up. Let them simmer there for a couple minutes, then gently pry them off. You may need some pliers, and grab them from the base to pop them off.
