i know you've noticed that some bots have atleast 2 or 3 weapons at hand at all times:

Primary hand weapon
Secondary weapon or internal system unit
and
Hand to Hand melee weapon(s)

I beleive that the whole concept of the 3rd option is intriguing.

i mean, Energon is scarce.
Blasters and High-Tech tricks and methods of big BOOM! use up a lot of the go go juice.

all warriors should be equipt with something Lo-tech to deal with the up close and personable. And that weapon of choice should be something the character finds suitable to their ability and personality. right?


Now here's the fun part:
choose 3 Gen 1 Autobots
and 3 G1 Decepticons

and tell us all what fighting weapon that character would use. WHY?

Well Optimus Prime has his energon axe so it's not outside the bunds of reason to assume Ultra Magnus and now, Classics Nemesis Prime, has that as well. Though I'd like to see them with the 2 retractable, metal axes that Movie Prime has.


Therefore, my choices are:

Ultra Magnus - Retractable axes

Prowl - couple of batons

Sunstreaker - something real nasty.

Smokescreen - staff with smoke generator in tip to disorient his opponents. Saw it in the classic Big Trouble in Little China.

Mirage - sais I know we're not talking Energon weapons but I'd like to see Mirage with an Energon bow ala Animated Rodimus. I feel Mirage's marksmanship skills make him more suited to this weapon. The impulsive G1 Hot Rod doesn't strike me as the type to weild such a weapon.

Hot Rod - shield he had in the 86 movie

Blurr - shield his toy has and a staff. Maybe a pair of sais since I could imagine him weilding them at super speed ala Neo from the second Matrix film.


G1 Bludgeon - sword

Stormbringer Bludgeon - retractable blades ala Movie Bludgeon/Wreckage since movie Bludgeon looks every similar to Stormbringer Bludgeon.

Octopunch - trident

Stranglehold - mace

Ruckus - some kind of club

Nemesis Prime - retractable axes

Ramjet - pair of Wolverine claws "Bring it on you slaggin' cowards!"

I'm aware I exceeded 3 of each but I was on a roll.

Ironhide-warhammer
Inferno-axe
Blurr-a pair of daggers

Starscream-retractable wrist blades a la Assassins Creed
Devastator-ball and chain, like Megatron's but bigger
Dirge-scythe
