What are robotmasters?

Postby shortround » Tue Oct 16, 2007 12:15 am

Are robotmasters like transformers jr's simple version of the orignal figures or something else all together. I wonder since I have seen alot topics on this forum concern these figures.

The line ios basically Takara's version of "Classics". Just remolds and a re-envisioning of existing popular characters, some of which were not originally released in the US.

It consists of repaints, remolds, and new shrunk-down molds of past characters such as Star Saber, Victory Leo, BW MEgatron, G1 Optimus etc.

Yes, and I find the Robotmasters series to be very awesome. They are fun little figures, fun again and not as serious I guess I'm trying to say as other lines. The RM Seekers are really terrific.

great articulation and anime-accurate molds. what more can you ask for? :)

though IMHO the seekers are the weaker RM releases when compared with the Classics seekers.

The RM Seekers were great until the Classics came out. I bought ThunderCracker and Skywarp and I gotta say ... classics beats it out by a mile.

It's also worth noting the line kind of dissappointed. It had a lot of "they could havees". They could have given the seekers knees, for instance. They could have given Star Saber wrists and posable legs. They could have painted Reverse Convoy in interesting colors so that he's mor einteresting to look at. They could have used sturdier plastic so the toys don't break so easily.

And then there's the non-origional molds, which nobody cares about.

Basically, the line had OK new molds, but terrific repaints. Especially Lioconvoy, Beast Megatron and Beast Convoy are great new molds (the last two have been released in Takara's BW reissue line in cartoon-accurate colors) and of the repaints I can recommend the Cyberjets (R-Blade especially, since he's a G1 Jetfire homage), Rijie (G1 Mirage!) and the Laser Cycles (Go for Double Face if you love A-Sideways).
The resident Rewind... well, half of one
